I picked Flea Men. Their jumping patterns are erratic and in Castlevania I, they take like 3 squares off of you. Medusa Heads come close too, but most of the time I could dodge them.

Why weren't Bats an option?

Hmmm....Maybe they were too level specific?

The worst situations with them come in CVIII, IMO.  SOme of their placement on moving or spinning platforms is a pain in the arse.

Medusa heads, especially in symphony of the night ironically, and again especially in tight places like corridors or clock towers...
and I usually figure out flea men's attack patterns but I've only encountered then in SOTN and some other game...you know, the one with the whip wielding belmont.

I say flea armors, sure they're easy to kill, but as Alucard, once they hit you they sit there and wail on you constantly, everytime I play, I cast summon spirit or use a range attack to break their armor, I HATE THEM, with a passion.
I told you bro!
I told you about he moon,
it keeps happening!

oh yes! the armored version of these buggers were as annoying as politicians that sucked at lying.
the problem is that they can easily kill you with a combination of other dangerous annoyances in SOTN inverted library like the tin man and jumping stick...all that and they still need at least two attacks each to kill no matter how high your level was.

Yeah, i still say the unarmored ones are worse though. But it does depend on which game you're playing.

sure it depends on the game, since in SOTN you had more attacks than your classical belmont....waaaay more attacks plus spells. and in Lament of Innocence all you had to do was use a quick whip attack on each and your done. so the difficulty varies in each game for all enemies.

I had a run thru the library last night that made me cringe....I was totally rusty, and it eventually pissed me off into turning it off.  LOL.

God I hated that place, with strange music and blue dreamy atmosphere and difficult enemies and no significant loot, anyone remembers the crissagram(spelling?) sword.

Yeah you only get the Staurolite there.
You do pick up some tasty ramen and that crissaegrim, and the fist of tulkas off of the Lion... but no 'big' relics or anything.

I remember the fist of Tulkas, it was fun to have strong fist for once, but I couldn't manage to keep using it too much, always needed a sword and a shield in the other hand, but I never was a fan of rods, except the shield rod Alucard shield combo, they made the most difficult boss in the game too easy.

Still not as bad as the Inverted Clock tower....

Stone Medusa Heads every one second literally, floating knights with their spinning flamberge swords, Harpies, and trying to hit the silly gears to open the secret wall along the way....

plus the fact that that place is a claustrophobic's nightmare, the enemies aren't nearly as difficult if there was space for me to fight!

I hate it when enemies in Castlevania tend to work together, medusa heads stone you, other enemies attack while stoned which lands all attacks critical in SOTN, and when you try to get away a random medusa head that just came out of a wall stones you again so you land this time on spikes and do 300+ dmg per sec. and your dead.

Fighting against those Medusas and knights wasn't so hard to me. Most of the time I just turned Alucard into mist and escaped those areas.

It was the other way around when I tried to punch those cogs on the walls. I'm not sure how much time it took to succesfully pull this of. Most of the time I got "stoned" and then pushed right into the sharp embraces of those bloody knights.
It was probably the most frustratong moment in the whole SOTN for me.
