I have a far different opinion than Ahasverus.

I like Dante's Inferno more than Lords of Shadow, actually.
It's a videogame adaptation of the story, so it's going to take license with it.  It's a great game, plus runs silky smooth on the PS3.  The graphics are topnotch, the framerate is amazing, and there are many moves that Dante can do.  There's even whip-swinging (although he uses Death's Scythe to do so).  The music is also very good.
It feels like a Castlevania 3D game.  Plus, it's full of checkpoints (even though you only have one life you respawn at the checkpoints).

It does have quick-time events though.  If you don't like those, you might take less enjoyment from the game.

You should be able to download the demo and test it out.  The demo plays the first stage and the first descent, before you meet Charon.  The game gets way better afterwards.

While I don't hate it like Ahsaverus, I definitely don't like it like Jorge does. I find it inferior to LoS. I hate the system in it more than I do LoS and I think LoS' system is pretty stupid. (Magic I mean, and Dante's system is more magic than moves though it's a mesh of both).

I would hate to have that as a 3d CV.

His scythe is bad ass though.

The fight with Death was a highlight in my opinion :P
We all have different opinions, I respect some people that liked it, but I found it dumb, half assed and plain ugly (Graphics, aesthethics and story treatment). CG's are awesome though.

I merely played the Demo of Dante. I really thought the graphics were a bit weak as well. Mainly the backgrounds bothered me. Having other options out there, such as Lords of Shadow and Bayonetta for the action genre. I think I'll play these a couple times through first. Maybe buy Dante when I see it for a 10 bucks too. But I have a feeling it'd be just another game that sits on my shelf. I have many bargains I figured I might as well buy that I just don't play... I saw Darksiders for very cheap the other day, $15. I know that is said to be like these games. I just see and and think I just wont like it as much either. I never seem to like games that have a THQ logo on the box though... that may sound silly. But they are never games I just gotta have. I am not very good at these sort of games, I find them to be hard. But I'll let you guys know what I think of Bayonetta after I beat it. I'm on Chapter 6 now. I think it's great so far, and am sure I'll love it after I beat it. As for Devil May Cry 4... it may be ignored for a bit...

I actually liked Devil May Cry 4. Am I the only person in the whole wide world who didn't hate it? It seems so...

I don't hate it. I was having fun until the part I'm on now. You have to move around these blade statue things, gyro blades I think. It's a real annoyance. Then you fight this half frog/half angler fish thing, and it beat me a few times. So I have moved these statues a few times and really don't want to again anytime soon. I don't know why they made it such a pain in the ass to move these things around. Or maybe there is a secret method I don't know of? But the only way I've been able to is to keep punching them.

Nah man, I'm with you. I actually like it better than DMC3. Which makes me like the only person in the world who probably does.

So yeah, Bayonetta. Pretty absurd, though not as much as I had hoped—and honestly, that was the main draw for me. I'm not too keen on memorizing button combos and getting the timing right on certain ones (ones where they have a pause in between buttons), so I just press buttons.

Not too fond of hack and slash games with combo moves, but I am having some fun with this.

Yeah I don't like the button combo memorizing either, so I'm with Freak on this one.
Still a fun game, but the fact that I botch those often makes the game less fun for me.

I'm pretty crappy and doing the combos myself ha. Especially the ones with the pause in between them. I figured out using the sword puts many enemies in their place much faster than trying combos. For me anyhow. I can't even pull off many of the combos. There are a couple special moves where you hold RT then hit Y or A to do moves, but I have the other special move break dance where you hold down RT, so I can't get them to work, just does break dance.

You can turn the breakdance move off, under "special moves." I had to, 'cos I hold the dodge button down when I use it, for some reason, and kept getting pissed that I'd keep going into the move.
