Huh, must be my ears playing tricks on me then.
It is precisely because it never cared, that people do care.  It's something which it's lacking, because that which it has, it has lackluster of.

You are now reading this in Robert Belgrade's voice.

Then Lords of Shadow 2 just takes a big, semi-solid, smelly, pea-green dump all over everything.

Try checking her discography sometime, since you apparently haven't seen the millions of posts about it here.

I've been listening to Nobuo Uematsu's work for FFXIV, and after heartin Nail of the Heavens, I think the melody from 0:34 and onward has a Castlevania-esque feel to it. I can see it in one of the side-scrolling games, Belmont pushing his way through enemy forces, climbing staircases and whipping candles:

This has quite a Castlevania-y feel to it, at least in my opinion, especially around the 2:45 mark

Dust : An Elysian Tail Soundtrack - #29 Vintage Sorrowing Meadows
EDIT: Goddammit, it's been taken down? Oh well, at least you know which one to look for when you grab the full OST later. Trust me, it's fan-fucking-tastic.
EDIT 2: Oh wait, official stream link here. Sadly I have no idea how to embed Bandcamp's MP3 player.

This one's from Zombies Ate My Neighbors (also published by Konami, but developed by LucasArts). The intro is kind of reminiscent of some of the stuff in SCIV. This music features in the Castle set-levels, where one encounters the obvious shoutout vampire Vlad Belmont. And LoS thought it was being so original making a Belmont a vampire...

Composed by George "Fatman" Sanger, who also did music for the 7th Guest and Ultima Underworld.

Don't consider his music to be Castlevania-esque. But Dr. Tongue's theme is certainly one of the best from that game. I love the tempo changes in it, especially when Dies Irae harmonizes back in. I wish ZAMN's songs were longer, though.

That one was the only one I thought was CV-esque at all. It still had some of that Surf/Funk vibe that the rest of the soundtrack had, though.

This is a tricky one, because it´s actually a little Castlevania homage inside Jazz Jackrabbit 2 (the best platformer ever made for PC). I posted it long time ago, so I guess it´s ok to link it again in this thread.

Opeth's Reverie as it weaves into the melody of Harlequin Forest is absolutely Castlevania music. And the main track is aptly themed. Mikael Åkerfeldt is the Count! The Vlad Țepeș shirt (such a narcissist) he wore when I saw him perform... it all just makes sense now.

Anyway, enjoy...
