Topic: Frozen Shade = Yuki-onna?

I was playing some Castlevania: Symphony of the Night on my PSP and came across some female enemies who appear as blue naked female ghosts who control ice and are known in the game as the "frozen shades". Well being the kind of nerd who has a fascination with mythology, I remember reading about a certain ghost in Japanese folklore who's appearance is very similar to the frozen shade. This spirit is known as a Yuki-onna which is Japanese for "snow woman". According to legend they either appear as a floating nude woman with inhuman white skin or wear a white kimono that causes them to blend in with their snowy environments. The nude part fits the appearance of the frozen shades, and they like to kill their victims by freezing them to death. Here is a wikipedia page about the Yuki-onna:

What do you guys think? Am I right in saying that frozen shades are really inspired by the Yuki-onna?

Yeah I didn't find thid out until later too. but when you kill them, you hear a very deep cry of pain as thy die. so they're man-ish to an extent.

Oh god. In spite of the hilarious belching noises, those things look fucking terrifying. I wanted to dress as one for Halloween but ne.ver got around to it
