The Animalities would be great if the animals people transformed into killed the opponent in ways that had nothing to do with their nature. Like a gorilla stabbing someone with a knife.

The next Donkey Kong Country definitely needs Shanky Kong.

I didn't even know Animalities were in this game.  I know the Babalities though.

I was referring to MK Trilogy actually. Don't own the new one so I couldn't say.

No but one of Liu Kang's fatilities turns him into the MK dragon...so sorta. Awesome fatalities even without the animalites.
Games 1-3 were announced for psn and xbox's online thingy.

No Animalities, just Fatalities and Babalities.
Mortal Kombat: Liu Kang Fatalities
As you can see from this video, Liu Kang's first fatality is the only one in the game I think that resembles an animality so that's something I guess.

My favorite MK is still MK2.

If you're talking about crappy female character designs, nothing can beat Chun Li's thighs in Street Fighter IV.

I don't mind Chun-Li's gams.  I kinda like ThunderThighs... but the size of her hands worries the hell of of me.  Ha ha! Futanari.

My favorite MK games are MK1, MK3, MKDA and MK9 (probably, I didn't play it long enough).

I need to spend more time with it, but from what I've played this one feels just as clunky and unwieldy as the old games. It seems like every time I try to do any combo that isn't just one button over and over, NOTHING happens.

Are there any shoryuken-type sites with tutorials and basics on this game? I really want to like it.

I do certain combos by sliding my thumb across the required face buttons, makes it a lot easier.

The multi-button combos have to be executed fairly quickly or they won't work.  The timing of it takes some getting used to.  And you really have to spend some time with any given character to really get a feel for him/her.  Once you do the game does get to be more fun.
