In fact, hand over the story to me. I'll make it awesome. Guaranteed.

I believe any of us could do this non-existent game justice. I certainly would like a go at it, but I know nothing of programming...  :P

Same goes for me.  Hell, just let me write the story and then hand it over to the programers who I think will do the best job.

You have no idea how much thought I've put into the ideas that would tie the games together. I have had a webcomic plot in the works which half the purpose existing is to tie as many plot holes in the series together as logically possible. People think the games are haphazard in there plot, and they are - however a good chunk can be explained and tie the games and history together.

But that's because we CARE. We care enough to want to make the games as fun and complex as possible, both in gameplay and plot. We want the directors and developers to realize we give such a damn and actually sit down and give the series the attention it deserves, and not just a game for the sake of another game or something to show off pretty graphics.

Well, as the saying goes, sometimes if you want something done right, you just have to do it yourself.

Though I can't really talk because I also have no programming skill.

I for one approve of the fanmade Demon Castle War's.

I say if the 1999 game isn't made by the 10 year anniversary of AoS, which is 2 years from now I might add, then we at the dungeon shall forge our own vision of the final battle.

Wow, really? 2 years will be AoS's anniversary?

Shit IGA, what the fuck have you been doing this whole time? He's had plenty of chances to make this game.

I think Konami has some sort of gag order on him, that prohibits him of doing any interviews, etc. Which is why almost 3 years later we're still in the dark about what happened to the Akumajo Dracula "Alucardvania" project.

Maybe they're not letting him do the 1999 game because of the LoS reboot. With a whole new storyline that doesnt seem to involve Nostradamus' prophecy and all that, maybe they've forgotten about it. :/

From a bussiness standpoint of view, the old saga is a danger for the new one if we are talking about the newcomers, and the most dangerous game they could make is the 1999 one, if they make it "big" (for a HD console) i will seem too similar to the epilogue of LoS and many people will buy it thinking it is the continuation and then... all is screwed up because they will face the old complicated lore, and that's just from a story point of view, if it's 2D people will ask why is it different from the 3D LoS, if it's 3D, IGA will screw it up and it will be the end of the LoS saga and the old too (If this one is bad, why will they buy another 3D CV game? People won't differentiate who made it).
I don't know, but I petty much think the old saga is done if Konami wants to keep the LoS the "main one".

And consider Hideo Kojima is now Konami's vicepresident, and he has his money involved in the new saga, every game must be greenlighted by him and he probably won't like to risk his money... these are dark times indeed

Everything comes full circle

Castlevania 25th anniversary is coming... I'm expecting at least TWO Castlevania titles announced on E3: LoS 2 and next portable installment for 3DS/NGP (don't care which one, just make it happen, please).

**roots for the 3DS version**
I'm lovin' that little system so far, even without any games in it.  I went to "Distant Worlds: Music from Final Fantasy" last night and all the StreetPass Miis were lining up and helping me defeat ghosts. :P

But back on topic, I think a lot of cool stuff can be done with Castlevania and the 3DS, especially with respect to foreground/background objects, etc.  Gh-gh-gh-ghosts! :P

You mean like the beginning of stage 9 in CV4?  That was cool, yet we haven't seen anything like it since and that was early to mid 1990s.

What's so dangerous about releasing another game for a saga that's been active for 20+ years? It's not like a new generation of newcomers just sprouted over night, they've always been around even way back when Chronicles was released and no one was complaining then. I don't think it was ever implied that the classic canon is done.. atleast not directly. Sure Cox has said LoS is a reboot of Castlevania, but he also keeps saying that it's an "Ultimate Marvel" affair, meaning that it can co-exist side-by-side with the classic canon.

There's going to be a 3DS Castlevania eventually, but I don't see any reason for the LoS story being realized on it due to console-only DLC, the fact that MercurySteam is already busy developing LoS-2, etc.
