It's how it works. It's business.

I'm surprised though... SEGA had never interfered with fan projects on the past. The first one I've saw was last year, Sonic Remix, and now this one.

Not bad, not bad at all, got to stage 8 with myself and a CPU controlled second player, turned off hit each other as that just makes the game a tad cheap. Though a few of the bosses are kinda cheap and hard to hit, ala the rocket pack boss, which later in the game becomes a regular enemy.

I remember playing one of the older versions of the SoR Remake. It was so nostalgic ;_;

This kind of has me wondering what a SoR 4 soundtrack from Yuzo Koshiro would sound like.

This is freaking incredible!  I lost count how many hours I have been playing but I still have yet to unlock everything!    I unlocked same characters, SOR1 and SOR2 versions of characters, Stage Select, and just today I managed to finally explored all stages/scenes!  There are so many of them and some of them are linked to other stages!   The entire game design is beyond brilliant!   The partner a.i. is also great, I always choose Aggressive a.i. mode for them and they kick serious butt!

Characters I unlocked so far are Rudra (ninja that is really awesome), Shiva (even his SOR2 version is selectable!), Mr. X (whoa!) and Elle (whip girl that looks like Electra but has a whip for an arm, very awesome and amazing moves, just try her dash attack while holding a knife or sword! and check out the Police button special attack too!  Rudra's is fire magic, Elle's is explosive lightning!).   Based on the shadows and other players hints, I can guess the other hidden characters are Roo (the hidden kangaroo from SOR3), Ash, and um... not sure.

Anyways it's also amazing how they even given the unlockable characters their own special Boss ending (which is triggered like in SOR1, before entering the final room, you must have player 2 already active.

After beating Yasha and Onihime, then entering the room, one player must accept Mr.X's invitation to join him,
and the other player must refuse to start a 1 on 1 battle between both players (as far as I know this can't be done with CPU partner because first time I tried it, they choose the same choice you choose.)

After the player that chose Yes beats the other player (you only need to drain their bar once, extra credits don't count.),  Mr. X is amazed and invites you to join him.  Choose No this time and the final battle begins.  After beating him, you become the boss of the syndicate (like in SOR1's alternate result.)
In this Remake, it appears that every single character has their own special art and laughter animation during the credits cutscene.

It's really really awesome.  Even the classic characters are completely redrawn and great artwork!

There are millions of great things to say about this remake. Even the finer details like adding special win poses for every single character after beating the stage 8 boss.  Words can't describe how much of a masterpiece and loads of explosive fun this really is!!!!!!!!   ;D

One of my favorite alternate routes is in the bar of SOR2's stage 1.   There, instead of moving further in the bar, you can go to the 2nd floor, which is on fire, and from there, you can jump from rooftop to rooftop, fight on top of a train,  fight inside the train, and then fight in the subway!!!!!    There are so many great original locations included, I liked the waterfall and other areas too!   It feels like a connected city! Maybe this should've been called Streets of Rage World!   ;D

So some asshole lawyer at Sega decided to make Bombergames take SoRR down. Apparently Sega is butthurt that non-professionals make far better games than they can. I mean, what the hell? It's not like Sega has touched the property since SoR3, which was made, what, 18 years ago?

(click to show/hide)

I'm not quite sure why Sega made them take it down, either. The makers of this game had their consent before they started. Maybe it's a temporary thing or something. I'm just glad I played this and Double Dragon Forever when I had the chance.

This game is awesome so far. I think my favorite part is the upstairs bar catching on fire. The explosions are massive! I was kind of surprised to see dismemberment, too...I could take or leave that, honestly. Not a fan of the vehicle parts at all, though. And they made Jets even harder to hit, which is kind of frustrating (you used to be able to lure them into a jump kick really easily). The somersaulting claw boss is a cakewalk now, though. And is it me, or does the Grand Upper have a little less priority now?

The CPU ally thing was really great on my first time using it. Kind of disappointing the second time, though. He got sucked out of the chopper 4 or 5 times, kept falling from ledges, and kept getting tagged by barrels.

It was good to see the uncensored stuff make it, like Ash, and Electra's original outfit, etc. I wonder why they didn't change City Hall back to the White House, though? Didn't want negative attention, maybe?  :(

Regardless, this is excellent. I can't believe how expansive and complete this game feels. You can just see the heart and soul oozing out of this one.
It's like Who Wants to Be a Millionaire, but instead it's Who Wants Fried Chicken? I do.

Perhaps Sega may have asked for it to be taken down so they can strike a deal with these developers and attempt to either take the game for themselves and market it for consoles, or perhaps make a deal with these guys to take it and put it on consoles.  ;D

The vehicle parts are actually very very fun and easy to master.  Just use the special button to hit them behind with the jetski, or use the special attack button to speed in front of them to whack them with back attacks from the front.   It really adds to the fun and I'm glad they added those motorcycle and vehicle sequences.    ;D

That would be nice....if Sega is smart enough to strike a deal with them instead of simply not allowing its release.  The creators deserve to get rewarded and respected for their hard work, especially by Sega themselves.  ^.^

Yeah, it makes it much easier to attack enemies from behind on the vehicle stages, but I still don't like them very much. There are a lot of games that have a few vehicle stages included in them, but they usually seem like nothing more than a quick distraction to me.  :-\

I really doubt that they will do this. This is corporation we talking about. I think they just pissed of that someone managed to create a cool game based on their franchise.

[How things will work when I'm dictator of the world]
Sega: Hmmm, I see you are using our property to make a game.
Fan: Yeah, well, we want to drive more interest into this awesome game series.
Sega:Hmmm...ok, how about this? The fans seem to love it, so we'll sell your product, and you'll get a 30% cut, seeing how you are reusing our assets anyway. This way, we don't lose potential money from copyright infringement, we get money out of the product, and fans can still play the game
Fan: That sounds like a great idea!

THATS HOW THINGS SHOULD WORK!!!

No matter.  I already downloaded it, as I'm sure many have.  Once the stuff is uploaded to even one small handful of people, it will spread like wildfire if the product is any good, and Sega or any other company ends up looking like a dumbass for not having done something good about it but instead, trying to stop it.

Irony:
They did E-mail Sega of America and Sega of Japan and both consented if they were not profiting off of it... but these guys forgot Sega of Europe, who are the ones raising hell.  They should've covered their bases and E-mailed them as well.
