Definitely would be cool to see a compilation disc with all the old linear games, and Simons Quest of course :D
1-4 plus Rondo of Blood or something? With like unlockable Haunted Castle and Vampire Killer. Would be SweEeEt!

This fanbase's obsessions over meaningless things like "Castlevania V" and "1999" are pretty hilarious. I mean, I can't even believe it.

I kinda agree, people seem to think that if the next game has the roman numeral of "V" in the title it will automatically be OMGCRAZYAWESOME. Adventure ReBirth essentially filled that role anyway. The 1999 event however has been teased since the early 2000s, so those requests are more valid..

A compilation of revamped CV1 2 & 3 for the 3DS at an understandable price would be excellent for the anniversary. Nothing more, nothing less.

I'm leaning towards a CV5. It would embody the same gameplay as the classics and would have some new CV tunes. Can't go wrong with that. Truthfully ever since 1997 all I ever wanted was a sequel to Symphony of the Night on the PS1. Same 2D action same everything. Oh well.

I don't think we need to see anymore remakes of the original CV. I already consider CV4 and CV Chronicles as the proper remakes to the original.

The thing that annoys me is that people think there should be a Castlevania 5, but don't seem to realize in Japan they aren't numbered at all

Well, many of us aren't in Japan. I don't care what they call it over there or over here, I'd just like a new Classicvania.

Granted remakes are a few too many these days, but I would LOVE a CV3 remake, using the SotN level sprite work, w/ Alucard and the rest made into a more playable charaters (like Trevor could have moves similar to Richter, ect, ect...). Obviously you'd have to include the original CV3 in it.

CV3 is IMO the best of the really old school.  Each of the original three had their merits, but CV3 blended the best of the first two, allowing for enjoyable boss fights as well as player determined exploration.

Actually, now that I think of it, what would really love is a compilation which includes the following...

 - CV1, 2 & 3 originals

 - Super CV4 and Chronicles (to cover CV1 remakes)

 - A remake of CV2, w/ a redesigned castle and overworld layout. Most importantly each castle (including Dracula's) would be redesigned to be more like stages within the castle, and would contain bosses both mini and main. Finally, the Dracula battle had better be challenging

 - The CV3 remake I mentioned before

 - Be DL'able on XBL and PSN.

Konami would probably do something like this as three compilations, one for each of the original three.

  OR

As someone mentioned above, CV5. As a DL'able game on XBL and PSN, and be old school sprite based 2D, stage by stage w/ multiple paths and playable characters like CV3.
Behold my true form......IS A CHAIR!!!

The best way to fight Dracula in CV2 if you want a challenge is to move to the middle of the room and not use projectiles. He gets tougher.

I'd love this too but I'm not holding my breath.

I'm not terribly keen on remakes unless they add something really substantial (REmake, Metroid Zero Mission, BC: Rearmed). But if any were to be remade I'd pick Simon's Quest (separate money, more detailed and expansive overworld, ACTUAL BOSSES, hints that actually relate to the game, etc) and the two GB games with Christopher (make them look at least SNES quality, maybe pack them into one game because Konami will scream and cry about spending money on it anyway).

Like a lot of fans, I would like a telling of Julias's story in 1999. Oh and not another Lords of Shadow please? Thanks.
