Sonic Generations: Official Gameplay Trailer

Sonic Generations Interview: Direct Classic and Modern Sonic PS3 Gameplay Footage

http://ps3.ign.com/articles/116/1162346p1.html?_cmpid=ign1161

Long translation short, 20 years of sonic condensed into one game, covering the majority of his games from the genesis to modern era, and uniting both sodes of the gameplay fanbase- the 2D side, and the 3D side.

Friends will be included as cameos and story or some shit too. Namely, Knuckles, Tails and Shadow were named.

And its the Colors people in charge.

My friends, I ask you...

Is your body ready?
Laura and Gabriel arrive in the deepest cave of the castle and... they find IGA.

I found the old Sonic pretty cute, much better than the faggot modern Sonic. I particulary prefer the game to be totally in 2D, I hope they don't mess up things when we have to play in 3D

Classic Sonic's gameplay is what Sonic 4 should have been.

Hopefully Modern Sonic's gamelay is as good as it was in Colors.

To be honest, Modern Sonic gameplay looks more like Unleashed daytime gameplay. (which is fine by me)

I appreciate Sonic 4 as much as the next guy but....this looks stellar! I mean if this is good then that would be the third GOOD sonic game in a row, meaning that hopefully the dreaded sonic cycle will be broken! I like that they are integrating both the 2D and 3D styles of gameplay, and THANK GOD they are using the sonic unleashed/colors style for the "new sonic" stages, I always found those to be pretty fluid. I especially can't wait to relive Sonic 1 in complete HD glory.

Was.

Sonic has been on an improvement curve ever since Fresh blood was infused into Sonic team. Unleashed wasnt perfect, in fact, it had the worst Sonic gimmick ever, but the Daytime gameplay was very good. Fans liked it.

Then Sonic 4 was announced and released. Not perfect, (far from what it should have been) but Sega actually MADE IT.

Then Sonic Colors was released. It takes the daytime segments of Unleashed, makes boosting less abusable, did away with the "true last story super evil boss that upstages Eggman" and actually had the egghead as the final boss, no strings attached. it was all Eggman from start to finish. The Wisps, while a gimmick, were very optional, (Very few areas actually forced it. If Super Sonic can get through stages just fine, then it wasnt forced) And they were a COOL gimmick. Something swords, guns, vehicles and wolfhog transformations were not. (and it got very favorable reviews too) And now, a 20th anniversary Sonic game is announced that features Not only the Unleashed/Colors gameplay, but Classic sonic. With classic gameplay as well.

The story will involve time travel, but its not like Sonic is a stranger to that. (and I don't mean Sonic 06) friends will appear? from across Sonic's 20 year history? That brings opportunities to bring back forgotten characters like the Chaotix. (And Mighty the Armadillo) So far, they are not playable. Simply as cameos and story elements.

Sonic is coming back. And he is very damn close.

This is pretty damn AWESOME!

I'm a huge sonic fan and I think Sega did the perfect thing by doing a gameplay formula such as this which will include classic gameplay (and sonic) with modern gameplay.

I can hardly wait to posibly revisit classic stages like Starlight Zone or Emerald Coast,or even Casinopolis.

That is assumeing that add these stages ofcourse.

Hopfully Konami can take a note from Sega's actions and pull of something just as epic with Castlevana's upcoming anniversary.

Considering this goes from Classic to modern Sonic, there will be stages from Sonic 1 all the way to modern sonic.

I have a big love/hate relationship with Sonic games. I love the classic Genesis games, and Adventure 1 and 2, and now I really like 4. If Generations plays like 4 and adventure, I'll be happy, but keep the rest of the terrible cast mates to a minimum. Also, where the he'll is Sonic the Hedgehog episode 2?
What a horrible night to have a curse!

To be honest, Sonic games haven't been THAT bad on the "terrible" cast mates lately. Unleashed had a few but kept it to a minimum, S4 had Sonic and Robotnik(fuck the name "Eggman", sounds stupid), and Sonic Colors had only Sonic, Tails, Robotnik, and Robotnik's henchmen. Sega's starting to get the idea that we don't NEED most of those pointless characters.
