Have any of you guy got more info on this?

This is all that I've found so far: http://scrawlfx.com/2011/04/nintendo-confirms-new-system-for-2012

I do find this really interesting cause even though the Wii has been out for a while, it just doesn't feel like it. It's as if the gaming companies are cranking out new systems every year now.

I think the Wii was released 2006-7 ish so it has been a few years already. Nintendo is still probably gunna support it after a while since it goes for a different audience than the next system is going to cater to. Project Cafe sounds cool though, pretty sweet that Nintendo is using good ol' non-wiimote controllers.

Looks like they will unveil it at E3 in June. I'm excited to see it. It's supposed to be more powerful the 360 and PS3. It better be after all... I'm wondering if it will up-convert Wii games? And personally I hope it will also play Gamecube games. Maybe that's asking too much? I don't think so. It will be awesome to see Nintendo stuff in 1080p finally. Also I hope it has a freind system setup like the 360, and finally headsets. Can't wait for an HD Metroid title. Maybe Monster Hunter 4 will come out for this system too. I am wondering if they will actually put 6 inch LCD screens in the controllers. This sounds very expensive and will suck if they were to break on you. I'd personally not care if they didn't, I'm happy with a classic controller pro type controller. It would be nice to have some little screen like a Dreamcast VMU at least though. I liked the VMU for Res. Evil games especially... Well soon enough will will find out more. I'm trying not to think of it too much though. Don't want to have to freeze myself like Eric Cartman did for the Wii. Oh, I believe Nintendo's think is to release a new console every 5 years.

I keep hearing different things. First it's supposed to be more powerful than the 360 and the PS3, and now it's supposed to be comparable to them. I originally heard it'll have 1080p resolution, and then I heard that it'll only do 720p. Then came the rumors that it'll use flash storage instead of a hard drive and 8GB of internal flash storage.

Either way, I'm kind of excited to see what they unveil with this thing. I wonder what will be their big draw this time.

Well they did say that they are aiming for a "different" demographic. If you look at the wii, it's demographic was kids and non gamers who wanted to play a game that was active(for example: wii fit). Then that must mean they are aiming towards the hardcore xbox 360/PS3 demographic just like in the past with the gamecube. This probably means that it will be more or less like an xbox or playstation only with better graphics and of course, Nintendo.

That's why I'm excited to see it. I'm interested to find out exactly how much they're going to cater to more avid gamers, and just how powerful the console will be this time. I'm wondering if they'll have a more expensive console that may alienate casual gamers out there, or if they'll give a half-hearted attempt at appeasing the more hardcore crowd. It'll be interesting either way.

I hope they go BLU Ray with this thing rather then the limited DVD transfer, which I believe the Wii currently has. It would allow them to put much, much more on a single disc then what they can already do.

Maybe...on the other hand, you have to admit the strategy of marketing towards their present audience has worked very well. As many complaints as the Wii gets about being the home of shovelware, hasn't it got quite a lot of sales to make up for it? The 'hardcore' market simply isn't as large as the market for casuals and kids.

Ah yes but see, I think Nintendo made the Wii to cater to that audience because the Gamecube didn't sell as well as the other consoles at the time. So they probably waited, let their funds build up from their popular system, and now they are making a system that is going to surpass the other consoles on the market. If that's true, then it's pretty ironic eh?

Really hope it's an actual upgrade this time.

Edit: looks like it will be. Backwards compability all the way to GC would be nice.
Also, I honestly hope Nintendo becomes an everyman's console again. Like it was in the good old days.

If I were a gambling man, I'd bet on this thing having a 3D effect without a need for the silly glasses. A more sophisticated version of 3DS. Don't know how they'd do it, but it would certainly interest me.

Ign says it will be compatible with both Wii and Gamecube games. Very NICE! Hope this is True. They also say it will def be 1080p and most likely support 'steroscopic' 3D. They are not sure if there will be a way to port over virtual console stuff. Which I would like. I'd hate to re-buy the games I downloaded on Wii. Hopefully if it does, the Wii 2 will output black sidebars. As I own a plasma TV which only has grey sidebars when I do older stuff in 4:3. My Cable box, and newer 4:3 games provide Black side bars luckily.

Man, if the Virtual Console and WiiWare services don't carry over to this next system, I'll be pissed. And yeah, I'm hoping for VC improvements, like: custom button mapping and 4:3 option. I dislike having to set my TV to 4:3 whenever I play VC or 4:3 GameCube games.

The thought of a 1080p graphical powerhouse Nintendo system URNGH! gets me all hard in the pants. I'm not the type of person who needs my video games in HD, especially since the Wii looks awesome in 480p, but it's nice to have something more current—and also just to have the naysayers stop being little bitches, and hopefully have Nintendo and other developers be a little more serious about game development for the console. I dig the Wii and all, own far, FAR more games for it than I do the PS3 and 360 combined, but they're mostly quirky little games, which I love, but I want something like, I dunno...something meatier this time around. 'Course, most games tend to just not interest me anymore. It's not the 16-bit era anymore. But still...

And no more damned waggle just for the fact it's there and can be implemented. *Gives DKC Returns the stink eye*

I've been thinking the same thing. I remember reading how their store really hasn't shaped up to what they'd initially hoped for it to be, so I hope they don't screw the people over who actually bought stuff if they give it an overhaul. Otherwise, that will make about a dozen games I'd have to keep my Wii connected to play.  >:(

...but then again, maybe that's where the flash storage rumor comes into play. I really hope it supports it, but includes a hard drive, too. I think a hard drive would be a good indicator of how serious they are with online content.

Nintendo has confirmed the existence of a new console, coming in 2012. While we don't know much about the hardware, the company has stated .
