Have not bought this yet but yeah might consider getting it all because of this thanks VK

Other than that though, the game is excellent. I heard that Destructiod.com gave it a 2/10. Fekin BS, that is!  Guy has a history of low-balling games that he lacks the skill to play well. Douche move if you ask me.

If it is Jim Sterling do not be surprised he does this with every game even if it is good.

Come on now this was going to happen eventually  :P

Glad I could help. Game REALLY deserves a purchase. The NES version of the music sounds like it's right out of CvII.

Just found the link elsewhere. I didn't know it was JAKE "VIRT" KAUFMAN who did the music for this. Holy crap.

So I guess there are some so-called "Castlevania fans" on Youtube denouncing the music to this game as an uninspired attempt at Castlevania music.

I wish these asshats would stop calling themselves Castlevania fans. They give the rest of us bad names, because the music for this game is pretty damn awesome.

Yeah, anyone saying that the music isn't Cv'ish, especially the 8-bit tracks, is a moron (or just simply lacks any creative thinking abilites...which probably means they're a moron). Ever since I unlocked the 8-bit tunes, I use them exclusively.

If I had to say which Cv, musically, they reminded me most of, I'd have to say Belmont's Revenge. What say you guys?

Anyhoo, how are you guys doing as far as getting high scores go? So far I've been able to get S-Rank on chapters 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 7, & 9. The rest I have either an A or a B, except for chapter 12, which I'm still a lowely C. Honestly, I have my doubts that I'll ever be able to complete 12 with anything higher than a B.

Currently, I'm ranked either a 9 or a 10 in the overall rankings on XBL (apostleXIII is my XBL name), so I certainly don't suck at the game, and can honestly say, hopefully w/o sounding too arrogant, that I'm pretty darn good at it.

You need to send some of your skill my way. :-\ My biggest issue right now is I jump into almost every battle with a hack 'n slash, button mash mind set, but to get the time bonus on a battle, you have to be a bit more tactical in your approach. I haven't been playing a whole lot this past week, so I am a bit out of practice. Perhaps I'll make a wholehearted attempt at it this weekend.

Well, I was ranked 8th for a bit, and then went back down to 9th. In the end, I'll probably end up in the teens, as the kids with few people with autistic skill at this game edge higher and higher in the brackets. Although maybe not. There seems to be a cap on each level, not technically, just that only so much can be scored. Already it looks like that for some chapters, the cap is pretty close to the top.

Anyhoo, I've since achieved S-Rank for chapter 4 as well as 13 (OMG!), which I was amazed I actually accomplished. Considering how difficult the platforming is in that stage, they seem to have given some leeway in allowing you to die a few times (like 2 or 3 max I think), but still get your health bonus. Also got an A on 15. Feck hard this game is, sometimes cheaply so, but it's great.

Agreed  8)

Currently I'm ranked S on most chapters, and A on a remaining few (only four I think). Still not sure I'll be able to do it.

While going for an S-Rank, I've found that I can only play the game for so long, before I have to put the controller down. Once I get continually frustrated, I lose my ability to play well. Usually, I do best when I first start playing. Been attempting S-Rank only a few chapters at a time.

Sheesh, if I'm this good, I'd love to see vids of people who are at the top of the list.
