I think it's the same artist who did the artwork for the other gamebook. He does a pretty great job at making it look a little goofy, while at the same time evoke chills with the menacing look of the monsters, and tense atmosphere.
I dont know... the art syles look way too different. Especially faces. Im not convinced its the same person.

You know who would do good art for Castlevania? The guy who did the art for Konami's game Oz/The Sword of Etheria. He already did CV art, actually. A wallpaper for Dawn of Sorrow. And this should have been the main art.

See how much nicer that looks?

This guy should've been hired full time to do the artwork for the game. And PoR's.

The cover or the ingame art? If you're talking about the ingame art, I will seriously hunt you down just to slap you.

Now the cover art... That's some badass art.

I mean this.

Also, whoever made this.

Say what you will about LoS, but it's art style, (Such as, when they actually had "drawn" art as opposed to renders) things such as this cover, and the character artwork, was pretty awesome. In fact, i think I myself would have enjoyed Gabriel far more if he actually had hair that long. (After all, Most Belmonts do) And for a guy living in what time? It makes a bit more sense he would have long hair

@DracX Picture
Yeah, that's what I was talking about. The cover art (I didn't clarify. I meant the JPN and EUR covers, lol).

@LoS Pic
Correct me if I'm mistaken, but didn't Yoji Shinkawa or something do that art? (The current artist of MGS)

Doesnt resemble his style at ALL. It's way too how do i say it... for ne, way too detailed whereas the MGS style is more simple, detailed yes, but simple, (relying greatly on shading)

This style is very "wavy " and "flowing" as opposed to the MGS style. And not nearly as excessively shaded with black.

compare.

I really WOULD like to know what the artist's name is though... His style rocks.

thank this amazing thread.

Minor nitpick! But the Lords of Shadow art employs much more shading than Shinkawa's art. Shinkawa's art is more focused on blotches of color and strong strokes rather than shading. He rarely even uses shading as most form is given by blocks of single colors rather than gradual color-shifts or etching. The lining is much more broad and expressively wisp-like, employing a lot of deliberate omission and different sized strokes.

Lords of Shadow's art employs a lot more traditional shading and volume. Well, barring the environmental concept art. It's also more digital. Vaello's pretty cool 8). Drew Satan. His hand-drawn stuff has some neat texture and grain, and the forms are pretty solid and manly.

THANK YOU! I couldnt find how to best describe Shinkawa's art. Shading was the best i could get out. Yeah. its like that.
