Microsoft makes great systems at a reasonable price, but their first-party games... blow ass.

Don't forget about their infamous RRD (Red Ring of Death). Because they were cheap in making their first 360 consoles (which I think was deliberate so they could eek more money off of us for the repair jobs  :P ).

All their Xbox 360s still do it though. The new Xbox 360 Slim or whatever, it still gets them, even though they said otherwise. The reason it doesn't get them is cuz they recolored the RRoD to green, so you don't even notice it. >.>

We'll I have had a Xbox360 Arcade for going on 3 years now and Have never had the Red Ring of death.

From what I have heard the newer Xbox 360 systems do not even get them so could you please post a link confirming your allegations?

On terms of your first statement:
Yeah, Xboxs last for quite a decent timelength.

On terms of your second statement:
I'm only speaking what I've heard there.

So you have no proof that ALL the xbox 360's still have the red ring of death?

Then why say it like its a fact?

The fact is that me and my friends all have either a Xbox360 arcade or a new model Xbox 360 and have never had the Red Ring of Death which really does disprove your statement that ALL the xbox360's still have it.

I haven't yet purchased one of the newer models (obviously I can't afford it), so once I do, and if I get it, I'll let you know. I say it like fact because that's the way I talk. You should know that by now.

The arcade and elites though, do indeed get it, however. The timeframe for it, of course, is very random. My elite just got it recently, and now I'm stuck without X360 games. >.>

We'll you really should not say things as fact since it can cause problems such as this one.

When someone tries to pass something off as fact I tend to call them out on it because thats just the way I am. ;D

And where was it confirmed that the Arcade version still gets the Red Ring of Death?

Also where was it officially confirmed that there is a timeframe to it?

Can you post a link to your sources?

Wait, by Arcade, are we referring to the same thing?

There is no confirmed timeframe to it. That's why it's considered random. Cuz it happens randomly to people. One of my friends, it happened to him within the first month. Me, I had my 360 for about nine months before it finally crapped out.

Actually it wasn't all of them that had the problem early on either. 3/4 of them I seem to recall got the red ring problem, and Microsoft would send those people new Xbox's for free. I was lucky. I have an early model, and mine has lasted 4 years so far. Still going strong.  8)

my classic 360 red-ringed once several years ago when it was still prevalent (well, a lil after). that whole fiasco made a huge impact on Microsoft's reputation imo

ps3 also has the "yellow light of death," anyone ever experience that?

I've experienced the full bodied love of both the 360's RRoD and the PS3's YLoD.  I so miss the days of the SNES...when you could literally hurl your console at the wall in anger and it STILL wouldn't kick the bucket.

As for the whole "poke Konami with messages until they make the Vania that we all want" idea....totally DOA.  For one thing, I...like many long time Vania fans, have my own wish list when it comes to things I'd like to see Konami do with this franchise, and only one of them jives with this "Operation Akumajo's" mission statement.  The reason why game companies tend to ignore the hardcore minority in the fanbase is for this very reason...we can't even agree on a list of demands.  I don't mind the LoS saga continuing, and I don't necessarily want IGA reinstated (was he ever un-instated?) on an ignorant whim.  The man did some good things for the franchise, no doubt, but I don't have any information regarding the circumstances of his departure from it or what kind of constraints he worked under vs his own incapabilities.  How can I, or anyone else, arbitrarily demand he be brought back and made to produce a particular CV title?  How do we even know that he WANTS to make CV games anymore???

And while I'd like to see the Demon Castle Wars game get made, I don't want it if it's going to be another effin' handheld title or if it's going to be a template clone of SotN, AoS, PoR, or OoE.  If it's not going to be fresh, high powered, and drastically better than the 2D titles Konami has been shoveling out the last few years...then I'm not interested.  Maybe if a talented 3rd party dev team was doing it I'd change my mind.  But truthfully, I don't understand everyone's obsession with getting this game made.  There's little chance it would measure up to any of our expectations.  JMO.  It would just be another 2D Belmont-treks-to-the-the-Dark-Spire-to-kill-Dracula title.  The only thing it would have going for it would be the story (ie: cutscenes).  IMO the Demon Castle Wars game would present alot more promise as a 3D title...but I know I'm probably in the minority here in thinking that.

Nintendo's the way they are because they're not conforming to the new-age of gaming. I believe that HD compatibility was not included with the Wii simply for how much it would cost when purchased in stores. Nintendo, in my opinion, is the best first-party company of the three. Sony makes great systems, but they're kinda pricey. They also have about 1 or 2 first-party games that are worth playing. Microsoft makes great systems at a reasonable price, but their first-party games... blow ass. Nintendo's got very worthwhile consoles (seriously, why did so many people think the Wii controllers were annoying to use?), and their first-party games are simply great (though the weird Zelda games that star Toon Link are friggin out of control).

And in an ontopic note, my GameFAQs thread got two people to join in about six days. Dunno if that's good or bad, considering the timeframe.

Nintendo said that the Wii was HD Capable, but due to Hd not being the big thing at the time. and personally, the games on the wii are better than the Xbox 360 (since I do my FPSing on PC) after playing around on that Dolphin emulator I knew that the wii had HD made games, but were fosung on the motion controlls and such within the wii rather than making it pretty. Now that the Wii U is coming not only we get HD, we get 1080p which totally poops on that upscaled 720p 360 has. (I wont rag on Ps3, at least you get free online that is better than the 360's)

Yeah, I knew HD was totally possible with Wii. And hell, I'm having more fun with that than any other console right now. I got Judgment (yes, it's FUN, deal with it!), RE: The Darkside Chronicles, New Super Mario Bros. Wii, Mario Kart Wii., Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Metroid Other M, and a megaton of other games. All I really played on my 360 was Harmony of Despair, which does get boring if you play it for long periods of time (well, I didn't have online play, so w/e).
