I just don't understand how projects like ENCORE OF THE NIGHT & Harmony of Despair get the greenlight (even a random ARCADE GAME), but a new metroidvania from IGA & team is just out of the question. Wasn't Order of Ecclesia met with favorable reviews? Didn't everyone on the internet agree that it was a step in the RIGHT direction? I don't think anyone here has actually said they hated the game.. because there was nothing wrong with it! What did Konami see wrong?
I'm sure their response will be "it didn't sell enough, so it's really the fans fault." This will be yet another infamous blunder that will go down in the video game industry's history, "Konami refusing to celebrate Castlevania's 25th year," right up there with Capcom and their "lets bring back Legends 3, but no one joined the dev room so lets not waste our time" statements & Square Enix' rape of the Final Fantasy franchise.
