I can just see Operation Akumajou adding Resurrection to it's list of requests
not that I would see a problem with that infact I think it makes more sense than demanding the demon castle war which is esentialling asking for something that doesn't even exist yet.

Get, like, Ayami Kojima to handle the main character re-designs
Not everyone is head over heels for Kojima's designs, I for one would be sickened by the idea I'd rather see a few other artists given a chance. The intro cinematic for resurrection looks pretty decent & what we are seeing is concept designs presumably fairly early so the finished game could still be quite nice without needing to be remade.

They really dont even NEED time travel to have 2 Belmonts.

here's an idea. Sonia is the heir to vampire Killer, and Victor is still a Belmont who ran away from his destiny. He could be Sonia's brother or something. Or make him older and be her uncle. Thus he is still a Belmont, but he doesnt use a whip, and has his own play style. Evil arises and fate makes it so he has to face his destiny and aid Sonia.
I had the same idea. I would be interesting, having Victor Sonia's older brother, who was meant to inherit the VK, but chickened out of his duty, so Sonia stepped up and said, "Hey, if he's not going to do it, somebody DOES, so hand it over! I'll be happy to be this generation's ass kickin' Belmont warrior!!". Maybe toss in some tension regarding resentment. Victor might come back wanting to reclaim his birthright and Sonia will go, "No way! You snooze, you loose! Play second fiddle to ME, the REAL Belmont hero...er...HEROINE!!!!". That could be pretty damn good, actually. Konami, quit being a douche! DO IT!!  ;D

I only mentioned Ayami because I'm partial to her style, though ANYBODY would be better(even though I'd probably keep away from the LoS Middle-Earth artstyle, as well as the horrible Judgement DeathNote style). The artist who did Ooe, or even the ones who did CotM and the CV64 games(which are the most anime-like for being 3D). But really, I loath the general character art style of Resurrection. Some of those designs reek of "extreme 90s"(I'm guessing it started development somewhere in the LATE 90s, given it was cancelled in March 2000). That style is vomit inducing, IMO. I wasn't a fan of that type of style back when I was a teen during the 90s(even though some of my friends, at the time, ate that crap up like it was candy), I particularly don't think it's right for the CV series. It's the reason I liked the general art direction of the CV series during the 90s.

Resurrection looks like it may have been a decent 3D game for the series, but Operation Akumajo is strictly dedicated to preserving the more traditional 2D gameplay.

I'd love to see how the game looked out in its original form, flaws and all.

In fact, it would be a dream to see this on a disc with Bloodlines (with the beta stuff that didn't make it, included in this version). And maybe some Haunted Castle and some Akumajo Dracula: the Arcade thrown in. It could be called Castlevania: The Lost Chapters, or Castlevania: Willie Eats Glass. Whichever works, really.

But that's just fanboy pipe dream stuff.  :-[
It's like Who Wants to Be a Millionaire, but instead it's Who Wants Fried Chicken? I do.

I think this would make an interesting operation by itself.

I was never really excited about resurrection.  The whole time travel thing bothered me.  I think if they do anything with it, they should improve the graphics and revise the story.  Make them brother and sister like some of you were suggesting, but make the guy wield the whip and make Sonia a spellcaster saying the while Victor inherited the whip, he lacked most of the magical skill some of his ancestors had and that Sonia was talented with her powers.  In essence, they would be a team: a male warrior wielding the whip and a female spellcaster (yes, I know it sounds like PoR).  As for where to shoehorn the game, it could be between CoD and Castlevania the Adventure (Christopher's first game).

Nah instead just give Victor some sort of gun he's into warfare and all that & he is the rebellious one after all, I don't think Sonia would make a very good spellcaster.

I agree. Victor turned away from his destiny and his clan for freedom so naturally he would be denied the whip by the clan. Sonia had a whip since Legends. She's a whip-wielder. Not a magician. She has power but she's a medieval combatant and trained in the art of Vampire slaying using the Vampirekiller. Sonia is in an entirely different league then say Charlotte, Sypha or any other spell caster in CV. She's a warrior woman.

Why should he get the whip instead of Sonia? because he's the male? She's had the whip before his character was even created. He was made for Resurrection. That WOULD be a bit sexist. I mean, theres no good reason. we no NOTHING about his original character except he ran away from his destiny. And it works best that way. all Belmonts seem to fall into the role, but I cant imagine NONE of them ever having questioned it or tried to run away from it. It makes the Belmonts seem a bit more human. Not just musclemen with no personalities.

I read all the comments here and from what i have seen so far, is that all of you people want is an entirely new game, made from scratch.

Well, i for once do not wish for a new Castlevania resurrection, but instead the chance to try the original. If graphics improvement was possible, then it's ok. It doesn't really have to be a main game, it can be a spin off.

Agreed. I'd rather see how far they came along instead of wanting it to be remade or anything. Its appeal with me lies more in its cancellation (and the mystery of what kind of game it was), and not so much what it could be turned into.
