I get what you meant, but you totally made me envision a Castlevania 2D brawler like X-Men, Final Fight, TMNT and Double Dragon. Up to four players together in a re-envisioned 2D side-scrolling "beat-em-up" version of Dracula's Curse. Choose from Trevor, Sypha, Grant or Alucard, each with their own unique weapons and special attacks. I mean, dude, Konami, back in the day, DID make some pretty sweet brawlers(TMNT games, X-Men, The Simpsons).  ;D

i'd fork over $40 for it, its a really awesome concept

It's true, beat em ups are awesome. They would totally have to take inspiration from that Data East brawler Night Stalkers.
