Topic: Emotional Responses Provoked by CV Games

The heart went, "Doki doki!!" when Lydie leaned on Juste, after I collected all the furniture. I felt like a man who had just won the love of the sweet, tender woman he always admired since childhood with his bare-chested ninja friend, aptly named after a men's magazine.

For those who love that ending theme, I just uploaded a version with some new instruments I picked up.

I'm probably a big ol' silly, but Alucard's "Farewell, land of my birth. Never again will these eyes gaze upon your beauty" at the end of SoTN REALLY got to me. I used the exact same line when I left a community I was a part of a long ago. It just really resonated with me.

The strongest emotional response I ever got from this series was the pure rage I felt when I first fought Frankenstein in Castlevania 1.

The ending of Castelvania 4 though is really wonderful. No other game makes you feel so triumphant.

I believe that the most emotional I've felt from a CV game was Carrie's good ending from CV64/LoD when she visits her mother's grave. That and you have that tune playing while the scene is going on which only adds more fuel to the fire  The reason when the ending sequence effected me so much is that you read about how her mother was lynched because of Carrie's powers and even though she wasn't Carrie's real mother, she still loved her daughter enough to protect her.

When I spent a number of hours grinding to get some soul in Dawn of Sorrow, just to turn around and get killed by a fire pillar.

Seriously, I didn't see it coming.

I actually felt for Alucard in SOTN, having to kill his own father. Even though they were obviously at cross-purposes, there still seemed to be love there at the end - albeit very bitter.

I still hate him even more so, than Reaper and Dracula in this game.

When Alucard and Ralph/Trevor joined forces to defeat Dracula. That was so moving.

Emotional response eh, I remember many occasions flinging the controller when falling in a pit.

I would say I probably haven't by any of the story means. More so the music and the backgrounds/environments bring out the most response from me. Even then, nothing tear worthy.

The closest any CV game came would probably be LoS. No tears, but I did have a huge WTF moment when

Gabe murdered Claudia, and it really wasn't a dream.

It was genuine "wtf?! no way!!" and feeling bad for the character.

As previoulsy stated the end credits of SCIV are very moving and has a epic feeling due to the BGM/cutscenes though I never felt like I was going to tear up.  As fun as Castlevania games are, to me its always been gameplay>storyline in this series.
