So what ever happened to this did they fire IGA or something?  Every game now is a reinvention of the entire universe.  I admit the metroidvanias were getting a little old but...... oh well...

Not every game. Just LoS.

Or hopefully, just an alternate universe instead of a reboot.

It always amuses me that people think Konami kicked him out just because they hired a new guy to produce one of their series.

COX is the new leader of high-grade Castlevania titles.
Except he doesn't want to be. He wants to make other games aside from just Castlevania.
Laura and Gabriel arrive in the deepest cave of the castle and... they find IGA.

He has made other games but he will also remain with Castlevania for longer than he'll lead you to believe. He did work on SotN, after all.

If he does, I doubt he'll enjoy it. Seeing as how he said he "doesn't want to become Mr. Castlevania".

Not that I specifially care how much Cox enjoys his job, but one's attitude will surely affect the quality of work.

It always amuses me that people think Konami kicked him out just because they hired a new guy to produce one of their series.

Fan fiction, especially when involving actual people, is an incredible thing. For a long time, people were certain that IGA was a misogynistic counterpart to Pixel, making these games by himself out of pure spite for everything a group of fans ever loved.
And it was all true.

Has it ever occured to people that IGA maybe doesn't want to be in charge of Castlevania FOREVER? People talk about Cox like he's walking all over IGA when, in fact, IGA may be a liiiiittle tired of making Castlevania games right now? He's made approx 500 billion games already.

I knew that the subject of this thread was too good to be true.  Well, there is also a mistake.  The war is suppose to take place in 1999 not 2000.

Back on topic, IGA is probably tired of making CV.  Everyone has their breaking point.  He may just be stepping aside for now.  As for if LoS is a reboot or not, I can't say for sure yet, but I'm I wouldn't be surprised if it was.  I love the timeline before LoS came out, but LoS isn't a bad game.  It's a great game, but isn't really CVish.  As I've said many times before, LoS would probably get a lot less flack if it wasn't called Castlevania and was it's own series.
