Would someone mind adding a huge, wet fart to the end of that video? It would fit well with that game looking like a really big turd and with Flynn trying to sound like Two-Face. Hell, he even says it's "time for Jack to let it rip"

This game has an entirely different feel from the others. I didn't think I'd see the Gekkos or Metal Gear Ray in there either. In fact this almost looks like it could be a Ninja Gaiden title. I also noticed that Kojima dumped the 'Solid' part in the title so now it's just MetalGearRising. This is probably intentional as Solid Snake isn't anywhere in there. Be it for better or worse, I'll pick up this title once it comes out. and yeah that 'let'er rip' part was kinda funny

Rising never was supposed to be TEA. Even the first version.
It always was called Lightning Bolt Action.

I didn't think I'd see the Gekkos or Metal Gear Ray in there either.

I was much more surprised to see Vamp...alive...again.

gameplay is 100% Platinum Games, Story and cutscenes done by Kojima Productions. They go and check out with other, making sure characters and world are presented correctly in the game as it should be in Metal Gear universe.

they talk a lot about game's development, you should listen if you're interested.

They want to go all out with action, crazy scenes that you haven't seen in the series from Kojipro before.

The old MGS Rising story was set between 2 and 4, but when they decided to go to platinum they decided that it was limiting and changed it to set after MGS4. PG's game design demanded the story to be changed, gameplay comes first etc. They think it was a good decision.

About Zan-Datsu:
It was a a concept revealed in E3 2010, it's now taken away, they think it slows you down, you still cut thing as you see but it's different than the concept shown in E3 2010. "Gameplay comes first" again.


Who's the director?

When talking about director at PG, Kamiya is the first name to come up but he's not directing, they are unable to reveal it yet but they have great talent there for action games, it's a great team there etc.


This time the whole work flow is toward English, they will be releasing English trailers first, game is directed more to western audiences, they try to develop with that in mind. Even if game design can not be released in Japan that's fine, western gamers come first. Talking about shooters etc and how it's the biggest market. They are aiming for a global market.

This doesn't mean they are copying western games, they are making what they want, it's still a Japanese made game, but they had that in mind. They are making games, games that are fun, but thinking who will find it fun.

• They were playing a demo of the game during the podcast, and they said Platinum added a gameplay element. Since you can cut anything, thy added something that would allow you to enjoy the "taste" of that freedom ( Drink or eat the enemies???)
• Enemies are cyborgs, and that red liquid is not blood but some kind of cyborg oil

Looks and sounds silly. All of a sudden Raiden thinks his terrible child soldier monster killer pet name is something to be proud of (or at least something to casually joke about). He throws cheesy oneliners. The action looks very un-Metal Gear yet it still has the series name on it. Just not my cup of tea, it seems.

Looks and sounds silly. All of a sudden Raiden thinks his terrible child soldier monster killer pet name is something to be proud of (or at least something to casually joke about). He throws cheesy oneliners.

OK, somewhat agree with that. But genre-shift demands it's sacrifices. And playing as a straightfaced hero, who mostly acts like he is mute would be boring in the game that build upon idea of over the top action. Not much of the tragedy.

The action looks very un-Metal Gear yet it still has the series name on it.

Gee...Where have benn back, when MGS4 debuted? And MGS remake. Well you could not count remake as a part of the series, if you want. But MGS4 had the same over the top action, when it came to the Raiden vs...basically anything scenes. And Raiden managed to stop Outer Haven ship, while being wounded in that game. Everything that was shown in that trailer is a mere a child play comparing to that.

I don't care about that genre when it comes to MGS, so I don't see why I should care about the "sacrifices" this silliness demands.

Raiden reached a level of badass in MGS4, but now it seems he was too much of a badass so they want to make him into a generic cybernetic hackityslash figure.

Doesn't matter to me much, though. I largely stopped paying attention after watching MGS4 played through. The story is over. Snake is dead and Raiden was supposed to follow Guile's advice (but I guess he got enough of Rose's nagging and figured the only way he can escape that is to become a killing machine again). So whatever.

We have a ninja in every MGS game, now we get to play as one. It wouldn't make sense for Raiden to be sneaking around anymore.

That spoiler what I am thinking is that while I will buy this on day one, but this could have been a reboot of nanobreaker. That is the feeling I get off of this.

As usual, Metal Gear gets the prime candidate for outsourcing while all other series must be sent to The Poop Company of Yugoslavia.

Why isn't Platinum working on Castlevania, Konami? Or a new Getsufuu Maden?

While I've grown a bit tired of the Metal Gear series in general, I've always had enough of an interest to see what happens next. But this...this looks kind of derivative, and just uninteresting to me. This will be the first time on a while that I won't pre-order a Metal Gear game. I may not even buy it at all, who knows.

Alot of hardcore Metal Gear fans are hating this.

And I can kinda see where they are coming from.

Just by looking at it you can tell its definitely not the same old Metal Gear people are used to.

Its on a whole different level.

And I LOVE IT!

As a fan of over the top action games like Devil May Cry and Ninja Gaiden I must say I'm loving the way this game is looking. DEFINITELY going to be getting into the game once it arrives.

Im hyped for it even though the tailer looked rough around the edges but im sure Platinum will fix all that by the time E3 rolls around.

Plus I love me some Platinum.
