Pumpkins

For me every time i hear about scary monsters of the night i think about Pumpkins (like jack-o-lanterns )
even if i don't live in America.
first they color scheme: orange like fire and black like darkness
second their evil smile.

in castlevania LoI there was a secret pumpkin character , although he didn't make it in any 2D game (as far as i know)
i think it was a wonderfull idea.
I heard people speaking about a fan game about Pumpkin but it was a Lot of years ago and i wasn't able to find any link.

So what do you guys think about pumpkins:
are they scary?
should they be included in Castlevania universe?
are they just for kids?

here is my attempt to draw pumpkin:

P.S. i would like to thank Jorge D. Fuentes for drawing the Pumpkin in the banner. it great

I think a pumpkin side story would be fun, like a Kid Dracula type of game. Come to think of it, a Kid Dracula and Pumpkin should starr in a game together.

But are pumpkins scary?
No, quite the contrary IMO. They're poster boys for halloween, which is too commercial to be scary.
Still, I think pumpkins look cool and are not just for kids. But it would fit better in a parody/comedy type game than in a "serious" Castlevania game. Whenever I see a pumpkin in a game I assume i'm playing a game that doesn't take itself very seriously. Pumpkins are basically Tim Burton, not Wes Craven. I guess.

Oh, this thread reminds me I was gonna check out this game some day;

I like pumpkins myself. But for a Castlevania game then no. They should star in a spoof type game or something. In terms of Jack 'o' lanterns being scary it's your own perception. Jack 'o' lanterns according to Paganism traditions are used as a means of fending off unwanted and evil sprite energies, and to light the way back to your home those of your deceased family. Kinda like an address code of sorts with a built-in security system. but originally they didn't use Pumpkins. They carved Jack 'o' lanterns out of Turnips. Now that's gotta be some hard work!

Ever since I've played Bunny must die, I hate pumpkins and bunny girls. There's a whole stage where you'll fight all kinds of pumpkins . So it's a no for me.
In case you don't know it, Bunny must die is a Castlevania parody game  . And it's pretty hard.

we already have pumpkins of some sort. in castlevania judgement, cartoon pumpkins appear whenever maria hits someone with her cage.
but no, we shouldn't have pumpkins again, they're for kids and sorta too much of a halloween staple and not enough for other days of the year to make regular appearances in the cv series.
