For those of you on this forum that love 2D gaming (99.9% of you), I strongly suggest getting Rayman Origins.

Aside from being beyond gorgeous, the game sports over 60 levels, and is a blast to play. You can check out the demo on XBL and PSN.

Anyhoo, you can get it for either the 360, PS3, or the Wii, each only $20, with FREE SHIPPING!! The only extra cost is tax (whoop-de-do)

$20 is a steal for a game this amazing, get it while you can.

360 - http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=11953077

PS3 - http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=11953076

Wii - http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=11965106

BTW, Michael Ancel, the director for Rayman Origins also made Beyond Good and Evil.

Daaaaaammit! I JUST two or three days ago ordered it from Amazon 'cos it was at $30 and I thought that was a good, low price. :<

If I return it, I'll have to pay the $3 return shipping, but I'd still be getting the game cheaper if I did that and ordered through TRU. Is it worth "saving" seven bucks? I bet TRU has tax...

Sure enough! there's a sales tax. By principle of taxing online sales being stoopid, I'll stick with my Amazon order... I'd only get like $5.50 back if I canceled from Amazon and went with TRU. Shoulda waited just a few more days...I could have spent $8.50 less for this game.

By the way, in case it matters to anyone, the PS3 version does not contain Dolby Digital 5.1 while the 360 version does. Not a deal breaker for me since I'd rather play a side-scroller with the PS3 D-pad and I don't care for surround anyway, but thought I'd mention it.
Oh yeah, and also:

I got it for Christmas and, being a fan of the original Rayman, was really excited to play a new 2D sidescrolling Rayman. I never got into the other ones. This game is fun as hell. It plays a lot differently from the original game, but it really works, and I love the game's design and sense of humor, as well as the return of classic enemies that griefed me so much when I was younger. It also has lots of areas reminiscent of the original Rayman, like the desert where they have band instruments and similar platforms to Band Land in the original game(though it's far less punishing than Band Land). The game's easier than the first one for a while, but difficulty sets in after you get a few worlds in. You may not notice it as much though because of no life system (which adds to the game IMO). You can laugh about deaths, rather than cursing because you have to do two levels to get back where you were. And there's a lot to unlock, and multiplayer is a BLAST with friends. No online multiplayer, but that's fine, as I wouldn't play with strangers online anyway. It's most fun to play with your buddies in the room.

Anyway, more straight to the topic, I think it's a really fun game, especially for Rayman fans. Well worth the original price. I got the Wii version for Christmas, and my brother got the PS3 version, so I've played both. At this price? It's a bargain. Buy it now.

I wanted the Wii version because I personally only have a Wii and an Xbox 360, and want to utilize the d-pad when playing 2D games. Classic controller makes it more Playstation-like, which is the format I played (and still play, actually) the original Rayman on. Graphically, the HD thing is nice for the PS3 version, as there's less blur, and the game can be fast-paced at times. Wii version is fine too though, and it gets the job done for me.

Goddamn shame the game has to drop this fast in price...poor Rayman, coming out when a Mario platformer AND a Sonic platformer during the same month.

It's a really great game, too.

I whole-heartedly agree. RO definitely deserved better sales numbers. Michael Ancel has made some of my favorite games, but they seem to sell so poorly. ???

The release timing probably did hurt this one though. Stoopid Mario >:(

Mario 3D kinda sucked IMO, too easy, beat it under a week and you most likely won't pick it back up.

Rayman Origins on the other hand is one of the most fun co-op games to date

Damn, that's the price I've been waiting for too! I've gotten so many games the last month via Christmas presents/me spending Christmas cash that I have no room anyhow for this. I will buy it in a couple months weather I pay 20 or 30. Yes it's sad the price dropped so fast but it's pretty expected. I'm just stoked they made an awesome 2D rayman game. It would probably have still dropped quick even if it were 3D (thank god it wasn't). The games that seem to hold their retail price these days are Call of Duty games. Shit, it was on eBay, but I got Mass Effect 2 for 12 bucks 2 months after it came out, and that was a new copy. I never buy games new for such reasons.... Unless it's Castlevania, or King of Fighters, or from now on whatever game is in the Dark Souls/Demon Souls series.
