Topic: The worst boss in the Castlevania series

I think the worst boss in Cv history (for me anyways) is SotN's version of the Phantom bat. No challenge what-so-ever. It's wings were CG rather then sprited like his body was which looked stupid and...flat. It was just a horrible translation for the first CV boss of CV1 to appear as such. And I firmly believe that any spriter on this forum could do a much better job then what was presented in the end 

PS. I also wasn't fond of the Creature either.

I honestly thought Symphony's bosses were pretty weak entries in the series lineup. Sure, they were striking visually (barring a few exceptions like the Bat), but none of them really offered much in the way of challenge. They were basically HP walls waiting for you to kill them.

Symphony of the night had far too many bosses that were dull and just served to break up the levels. For every cool boss like olrox or Beelzebub, there was a ton of shovelware like the hippogriph, Akmodan II, or Karasune.

I say the worst were the titan fight in LoS.  They were difficult to beat and weren't fun at all.

I'd have to think about it more, but yeah, those fights were pretty-looking and... that's kind of it.

Dracula in Simon's Quest.  I actually really like Simon's Quest but the bosses in that game were... pathetic.

Totally agree! That ... thing ... and the Creature have horrible sprites followed by Cerberus. They look SO unprofessional.

Agreed, also. Although I don't even consider Vampira & Death bosses since you can just walk right by them.

I fucking hate the Grim Reaper in CV1.  If I don't enter the battle with boomerang and triple shot then I don't even have a chance.

I'd have to say the cog monster or "gear man" from the Munich stage in Bloodlines. It looks like something that was scrapped from Contra Hardcorps.

That actually is a pretty strong candidate for worst boss in the franchise. And what's more, I totally forgot the bird brained loser. *facepalm*

Camilla in Simon's Quest. 

haha, her name is Carmilla. You forgot to put the 'r' in there. But you only fight her mask in CV2; Vampira.

I think I heard from somewhere that Camilla is a valid alternate translation of Carmilla.

If memory serves, she's called Vampira or something in Simon's Quest, and Camilla in Circle of the Moon. Other appearances name her as Carmilla, so it all gets a bit confusing at times.

But Carmilla is the character's proper name in literature.
