Acording to IGN, each "story" (Leon, Chris, Etc.) is something you play through entirely from beginning to end without shifting to another. Though you would obviously be missing out on part of the game, it seems quite possible for you to entirely skip Chris's portion of the game if you so choose. But I'm betting you'd feel compelled to play it just because it's there and then say how much you don't like it being there... Essentially giving Capcom no way to win here. ;D

Personally I think it's very smart, they're giving content for all different fans of the series. In theory, it makes a lot of sense at pleasing everyone (or most everyone, you can't ACTUALLY please everyone when there's this many people involved). The only way to know for sure though is when the game gets closer to release and we get a lot more info.

Oh, and IGN also said the blonde girl in the trailer was Sherry Birkin.

My big question for this game though is the timeline. Supposedly it's 10 years after the Raccoon City incident, which would place it at 2008, I believe. RE5 was 2009, so is this game actually before that game? I'm hoping this isn't the case and this gets cleared up later.

Where does IGN say this?

Can you post a link?

And was it confirmed by Capcom? or did they say it was from one of their "sources" or some BS like that?

Sorry but I don't trust IGN for shit lol.

Sure, http://ps3.ign.com/articles/121/1216937p1.html

If you don't trust IGN than this doesn't matter anyway, though. They've been wrong before, but the writer sounded pretty confident about this.

I knew it was that "our sources" BS lol.

But thanks for the link anways..... But until Capcom themselves confirm this I am going to take what IGN said with a grain of salt and others should as well in my honest opinion.

Guys. There is a part of every game that the player does not want to play. Me for example?

Castlevania Circle of the Moon: The Underground Catacombs area.
Resident Evil 5: The whole Savanna stage
Resident Evil 2: A lot of the later parts of the game.

So what are you gonna do? Deal with it. They're catering to both fans by making one game. While I admit that ORC is going to be pure action, with maybe a hint or two of horror, Resident Evil 6 is a main series title. A lot of the people who call themselves "true" fans love the horror of the old games but despise the action of the new games. A lot of the newer fans love the action and despise how the older games were executed and can't get into them. There are people who don't mind what they do with the game, and as long as its fun they'll play it.

@DarkPrinceAlucard
I looked at the video at the part where it shows his hand, like you said, and uh...

Well, he's wearing a glove. How did you analyze his hand?

Uhhh

Did you really look at the video and his hand?

He clearly was not wearing a glove when he injected himself with something.

Still not seeing a glove in that first pick.

Looks more like a scaly clawed hand to me.

While I do grant you that the second pick does look like a glove.

Yeah, those are both from the same few seconds.

I'd bet that the scaled-claw hand thing has more to do with the graphics than actually being a hand. And if you look closely, you'll see veins sticking out of his thumb that I highlighted as well as on his head/neck area sticking out. They kinda resemble when Wesker was stabbed in the chest by the PG67A/W and glared at Chris.

Then again though, they also resemble the veins sticking out everywhere on Steve's body when he died in Darkside Chronicles.

To state why I thought it was unlikely to bring back Steve: Yeah, Wesker did say there was something special about him. But think about it. After 10 years of events (story-wise), Steve was never mentioned again (except when Leon was talking about the events of CV in Darkside Chronicles). I personally think (we all got our own opinions) it's pointless to bring back Steve, as much as I liked him as a character. It's almost as good as bringing back Carlos, Billy, or any of the Outbreak main characters. The only one listed that's likely to come back is Carlos, since it can be presumed he continued to be in some kind of military after the UBCS and Raccoon City.

This not only highly appeals to my tastes for the game, but is also reminiscent of the multiple scenarios in RE2, which rocks.

If I could, I'd only buy the Leon part. (Chris's part looks fun but I don't play RE for blowing shit up.)

This looks pretty promising. I've always enjoyed the series overall but didn't really care much for RE5...just didn't grab my attention as much as the others. And plotwise, the final 15 minutes jumped the shark pretty hard. This, though...this looks like somewhat of a return to form, and I look forward to hearing more.
It's like Who Wants to Be a Millionaire, but instead it's Who Wants Fried Chicken? I do.

Strangely enough, I've yet to play through RE5. While I don't mind the heavy action added to the RE series to make it fresh (RE4 is probably one of my favorite games of all time), I hated how in RE5 they seemed to put you in a situation even more action oriented than RE4 but still had you using the slow ass turning clunky control style from the original.

Anyhoo, even though I haven't played 5, I still might get this eventually.

Like the old school horror aspect returning, and from what I've read, the mystery character might be Hunk..

Oh yeah, capcom is on the ball!

RE is trying to be the next Megaman.

Only thing is that True fans will only be playing Revelations (because its like, y'know RE).

Does anyone else miss the 90's where games were distinctively different?
Where everything DOESN'T have to be a First or Third person shooter.
