Top 3 for me would be :

1. Aria Of Sorrow
2. Order Of Ecclesia
3. Dracula X Chronicles
If a man chooses, and a slave obeys, then what are you if you choose to obey?

Well, as long as the topic is here, here's my list:

1) Circle of the Moon

2) Aria of Sorrow

3) Harmony of Dissonance
How not to be a dark lord: the answer to that is a terribly interesting answer that involves an almost Jedi-like adherence to keeping oneself under control and finding ways to be true to yourself in a way that doesn't encourage the worst parts of you to become dangerously exaggerated and instead feeds your better nature. Also, protip: don't fuck with Alchemy or strike up any deals with ancient Japanese Shinigami gods no matter how tempting the deal or how suavely dressed the Shinigami is.

I don't get why we need a rule about not starting favourites threads in the first place, if we aren't allowed to discuss what Castlevania games we like and why then what are we meant to discuss? what Castlevania games we hate?

I can understand not wanting a ton of threads where people just post their latest favourites list but couldn't you just ask members not to respond to those kinds of topics with lists instead of banning it's discussion altogether.

How about a more organized approach to this? instead of banning "what's you favourite..." topics make a big loud sticky thread named something like "The official What's your favourite thread" in the first message you write a modified rule that says all these types of questions go only on that topic and put an index linking to the replies with all the different questions the users make so no one will repeat them, they just pick it from the index or make a new one.

That way when we get bored we have the option of going there and answer the questions of the newer users for a while. This won't stop it completely because there's always someone that fails to see it until after they wrote the topic but it'll help to keep it more easygoing on the newbies and the ones that actually want to discuss these type of topics.

Of course I refrain from making this suggestion in case it has been done before and didn't work.

Finding it hard to choose between Aria of Sorrow and Order of Ecclesia, but I'll go with the former.

Belmont's Revenge. It has a very peculiar atmosphere to it, partly because of the stark Game Boy minimalism inherent to the platform, which is something I have a great fondness for. It makes me want to look past the obvious and immerse myself in the world it depicts, in all its monochromatic glory. There are so many things that build it a strong, individual identity: unique enemy designs, stage concepts otherwise unexplored elsewhere in the series, the quaint presence of the themed castles, and perhaps most enduringly, the limitations-shattering soundtrack. Tracks like Praying Hands and Castle #2 contain such immense mystery and depth of expression that I can't even fathom it.
