E3 is our best bet for anything.

I do agree the lack of any real CV news is disappointing, in fact I'm still quite angry about the anniversary; they completely disregarded it in favor of Metal Gear Solid. Absolutely ridiculous, I used to love MGS but now I'm flat out sick of it.

I am slowly forgetting about this franchise. The silence tells me that they're working on something really big and epic and cinematic with a bigger budget than any Castlevania before it. And that's exactly what I don't want. As decent as LoS was I desperately don't want the series to move in this direction. There are HUNDREDS of other games doing that already, and they all look basically the same to me. Castlevania always stood out as something different, something with a pretty clear identity. Now I honestly don't know what it is. It screams "ME TOO!" like no other franchise and it saddens me. Ah well...

I couldn't agree with you more. I don't want castlevania to go in the direction of LOS only, that kind of game is way too common. look at some of the best and critically acclaimed downloadable indie games that came out in the last few years, a lot of them are takes on the vintage metroidvania style gameplay only not as good. why can't konomi see the niche market for this type of gameplay and continue to produce the game we all love to play?

The answer is simple: Money my friend, money.

That and Konami is clearly stupid.

Im kinda leaning on it being called Castlevania: Prince of Darkness.
I'm leaning toward Lords 2: Lords Harder more personally.

They'll wait for a VG convention/festival to announce something.

Now you feel like us Gradius fans feel like, we get something, then BAM Konami pulls it back and cans it.

Also, us Suikoden fans say hi and welcome to the nothingness!
Castlevania, Gradius and Suikoden have something else in common too, other than being fucked up and/or neglected. Hmm, wonder what it could be........ *cough*konami

At the very least, we should expect some classic titles to be popping up on the Eshop in the near future.  Hopefully we will get 3D Classics versions of 1 & 2.

Otomedius, there's only one thing I have to say about that, it's not Gradius (nor Parodius). I refuse to count that crap as anything, so it's still not Gradius, this one's for the loli crowd. I speak of Gradius 6, not that other garbage.
