Best Friend: Hey, _________ Belmont!

Belmont: Hi, best friend EVAR!

Best Friend: Hey, Dracula rose from the dead again! We should totally go stop him!

*BELMONT STABS BESTIE*

Best Friend: WTF MAN?

Belmont: Sorry. But I know how this will work out already. I've READ the family history. Belmonts and Best Friends DO NOT MIX. Now if you'll excuse me, I need to lock my girfriend up in the Vatican until this shit blows over.

Best Friend: Oh. Ok then. *dies*
How not to be a dark lord: the answer to that is a terribly interesting answer that involves an almost Jedi-like adherence to keeping oneself under control and finding ways to be true to yourself in a way that doesn't encourage the worst parts of you to become dangerously exaggerated and instead feeds your better nature. Also, protip: don't fuck with Alchemy or strike up any deals with ancient Japanese Shinigami gods no matter how tempting the deal or how suavely dressed the Shinigami is.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't that situation only apply to Juste and Nathan (who doesn't even bear the name "Belmont")? :-X
It is precisely because it never cared, that people do care.  It's something which it's lacking, because that which it has, it has lackluster of.

Leon got screwed over epically by his best friend. FUCK YOU MATHIAS.

Also, Gabriel and Zobek.

Stretching the example to family, we have Christopher and Soleiyu. Easily enough points to determine a trend.

LOL, Forgot about Leon and Matty since they didn't actually fight. Derp. :P
Also, didn't really consider Gabe and Zobek as friends since I didn't really know how close they are. :-X

Gabe and Zobek were never friends.  Zobek shows up to assist Gabe with the ice titan and then agrees to help him with his quest.  The only reason Gabe trusts him is because he claims to be apart of the Brotherhood of Light and wears they're outfit.  Plus, he says that the Brotherhood sent him to help out and Gabe has reason to doubt this.

I'm thinking they could just buy the land, bulldoze over those castle ruins (there's even a convenient lake there), and build suburbs.

Take that, Dracula.

How could you forget Richter and Anett? Also along the other abductee's are Maria, Tera and Iris. Richter should've locked all of them away before Drac started his reign 'o' terror.

Then there's also Simon and Serena from Haunted Castle. Simon should've locked Serena in the church before Drac had a chance to snatch her away.

Let's see.
Sonia: Alucard (kinda)
Gabriel: Zobek.
Leon: Mathias
Trevor: Uhmm.. Isaac? IDK they were never friends, but he was almost killed because he helped hector so yeah, Hector is guily too.
**Bonus** Hector: Zead (Because he was soo well disguised)
Chris Soleil.
Simon: This man knows how to make loyal friends.
Juste: Maxim
Richter: Anette.
**Bonus** Shanoa: Barlowe.
** Bonus: Soma: Graham.

It's more like Cv protagosnists shouldn't have friends, they are bad, or they are killed (Gabriel anyone?)

Hahah friendship doesn't exist in this series :P

I would be more worried about being a Belmont crush/girlfriend/wife though!

Everything comes full circle

Thing is, most of the Belmont crush/girlfriends/wives are defenseless damsels. Lydie, Mina, Serena, Annette, Sara, Rosalie, the list could go on.

About the only exceptions I can think of are Sypha, Maria and Charlotte, since both of them can easily fight for themselves.

How could you forgot Shanoa? Man, she's the best female protagonist in the History of CV.

I was referring to love interests. Unless you want to argue that Shanoa is a love interest to Albus.

Then why'd you include Charlotte? She doesn't has any love interest.
