I probably should've posted this sooner if it's actually relevant, but... right now both DLC chapters "Reverie" and "Resurrection" are half off until March 19th on xbox live (400 microsoft points each = $5 each). Plus Symphony of the Night is also part of that deal right now if you know somebody that may be missing out on that classic (only $5 as well).

Yeah, Konami is both a publisher (JPN version of Super Scribblenauts) as well as a developer (with franchise flagship series under their own development teams).
They are similar to Nintendo and Square Enix in that way.  They're big companies that can publish a title or develop a title.

Newsflash:  I've finally beaten the DLC stages.  Oi, takes a while, cause I only have access to my PS3 once every other weekend (plus plenty of times i just wasn't in the mood to do that right now).  It is shameful though.  I played Knight mode the entire time, but don't really like ultimate boss battles and just want to get them over with, so I played the last two sections as a squire.  Even so, aiming the whip attack a particular part of a giant's body in 3D air-space is not a skill i have in abundance, so it dragged out a while.  I still got my trophy though.  Do you get a better trophy if you beat it on a better level?  Wish they actually gave you something for it (playable Laura, Zobek).  How about that Simon Belmont concept video?  Maybe a Happy 25th Anniversary note.  Well, they gave me a ton Experience Points for the trouble, so I was able to buy the Ultimate Light technique (yay, all skills obtained trophy).  Didn't have enough to buy all of the artwork though.  I had to do a victory lap through the game, wandering in from one stage to the next just to look at the decor and soak up the atmosphere and cut scenes, but then fleeing to the next stage once i encountered some resistance.

Are we past using spoilers for DLC yet (if i've beaten it, i'm sure everyone else has too now or watched it on youtube)?  Anyways, about the end :

How? He broke it within that other realm and left it there.

I saw this too on a You Tube vid. I don't think there's any way for it to be recovered.

Well, Rinaldo is still alive, so he'll most likely make a new "Vampire Killer" for the next protagonist.

Is there a clue that he's still alive? Not that I don't believe you, but I don't remember seeing that.

There are mentions of him on dead Brotherhood knights, stating that he uses the disguise of an old beggar, but is clearly quite sharp.

Konami is a shit developer as of recently.

Konami's been out of sorts for awhile as far as I'm concerned. It's like they genuinely don't have a clue in this new day and age of gaming. They used to be an innovative company, but now, it's like they've taken a lot of their hot ip's and modeled them after other popular games.

I'd been considering getting a PS3 so I could play this and other games, but the DLC age has got me thinking about just sticking with what I have. It seems like a lot of companies are forgoing quality and releasing full games in favor of chasing those DLC dollars. :(
