That was the first thing I told Puwexil, that it was more likely than not going to be flat. In reality, I think it would depend on the director. Takeda Takashi directed Lament, Curse, and Nanobreaker. His approach to 3D games seemed rooted entirely around Dynasty Warriors. Everything had to have constant (but ultimately very bland) action in repetitive rooms to create the illusion of length. His only 2D game, Harmony of Dissonance, also had some flat, beat 'em up areas- the Castle Keep and Aqueduct of Dragons come to mind. That's why it's so weird to play those areas and then progress to, say, the Entrance Hall or Sky Walkway which are more SotN-and-Rondo-like design.

Also come on, guys. The whole pre-teen 'Cox/IGA is better!' is best left to the realms of Gamefaqs and console wars arguments.

Weapon looked gay and critters don't look like that in CV. I'd have been fine with it if those were Fleamen. The Alucard teaser didn't reveal anything (and what the deuce, Al should know better than anyone his father was immortal until 1999), but I think the LOS teaser looks too retarded and gay and hokey; his attacks are too unrealistic. I'd have never greenlit that.
But i'd still hire MS for the CG cutscenes.

On a related note, no, they shouldn't hire MS for CG cutscenes, because that's their in-game engine (you didn't play LoS did you?), not like Alucard's trailer that probably took 2 months of pre-rendering at IGA's HQ to look like a PS2 Hd-re-release.

CG or in-game engine or whatever, they could still incorporate the engine (which is technically CG anyway) into a movie to embed in the game (if the Alucard one got greenlit instead, I mean).

I remember back then I read a lot more negative than positive comments about the new Alucardvania, while LoS teaser got better response from the general public. I personally wasn't interested in it, specially after the radio drama that was supposed to be the game's prequel according to what I read from some Alucard fan's blogs.

Im glad they cancelled the new Alucard project..I don't trust their motivation nor their budget to bring the game up to its full potential!
Do it good and it would probably have become the best thing ever. but, without real motivational spirit nor budget we can face nothing but disappointment. sad but true. Hence they make our beloved series into just another mainstream franchise(LoS) with no (what I call castlevania) whatsoever.
