It was nice they finally acknowledged CV, but I was disappointed all the jokes were about the whip. Or maybe there was also a reference to Simon's signature horrible postured poopypants walking style. If so, it was a cool little detail

Which was actually funnier than the scene itself. Not that the scene's not funny. Jean Claude should actually voice in a Castlevania at some point.

I like the whip. However, I do agree with why the whip? I'm pretty sure in LoI, Rinaldo is like "Here are your choices of weapons!!! The axe of justice! The sword of God!!! AND... a whip...?" My guess is he saw how girly Leon looked and thought it was the only weapon he could handle. However, once again I like the whip and think it's unique.

I did quote the funny werewolves for the topic's title but I don't see anything wrong with using a whip. It's a good weapon, you can cause a lot of damage with that thing. However I like better when the Belmonts use chain whips rather than the normal ones. It looks more cool.
Zorro from the old tv series, for example, used a whip from time to time and he kicked asses with it, I didn't think he looked girly using it.

If you associate whips with dominatrixes then you may think it's girly but whips have always been used as weapons of repression and punishment, at least when I hear the word whip my first thought is something like an evil jailer punishing slaves with his whip to make them work faster, at least the Belmonts use them for justice

Most people don't think of it this way, but a whip is a slashing weapon. It's slashing capabilities depend on how the whip is constructed though. It is a very versatile weapon.

Think of it this way, a whip cracks because the tip reaches past the speed of sound and causes a sonic boom. That's pretty damn fast, and it will cut you open.
