Castlevania : A new game Soon ?

Hello !
This post will resume all rumors and informations on the next castlevania :
The New Castlevania Will Probably take place in 1999 , The end of Dracula ( the first one ) , why ?
Because in many game , the 1999 Battle is mentioned as The '' Demon Castle War''

So : In Aria Of Sorrow :
We can find : Zombies with a modern Soldier Suit
                   Grenades Abilities
                   Guns

Many Peoples in the games are related with this battle :
Julius Belmont , Who Doesn't remember his past , and seem to have already enter the castle before
Graham Jones , who is born on the exact moment of Dracula's Death , and pretend he 's Dracula
Hammer , why is the Army sending an armed guy in a japanes temple without any reasons ?
Arikado , he was certainy here when Dracula got killed , he tell us about the eclipse in the beginning

In Portrait of Ruins
Dracula Is Saying '' But..I can see , one day , my powers will be fully revived !'' And looking at Charlotte and Johnattan ''i look Forward to See who will have the last laugh'' Maybe Charlotte And John' Will Encounter Dracula in 1999 !

In Curse Of Darkness : We can encounter St Germain , a Time Traveller , who is telling us at the end of the Game something like '' I must go Now ! I will See a great battle '' ( not exactly the words of him , don't remember exactly)

So we have many reasons to think 1999 Battle is the theme of the next Castlevania.

But , we don't know the rest ...
They're many opinions on the Net :
- In a trailer , We can see Alucard , in his normal Outfit , with red Glowing Eyes , this game haven't made an apparence since that ( cancelled ?)
- In the Wii Game : Castlevania Jugdement , We encounter Aeon , an Another Time Traveler , It's was his first apparition , maybe  he will be in the next castlevania ? No info's
In 2011-12 , 2 new Consoles appared :
The Ps vita and The Nintendo 3dS , No Castlevania Game on these.. But i suspect The Nintendo 3Ds to have the honnor of this !

the Next Question is : in 2D or 3D ?
We don't know at thi s hour , many fan's of Castlevania we're Happy when Lord Of Shadow get Announced , but , for me , this is none compared to Sotn On Playsation ( over like 10 years before)

I'm Waiting For commentaries , To see your ''infos'' about this next Game !

Best Regards !

While I would love a 1999 game, I'm not sure when or if it will happen. We have been waiting for this game for like nine years and with LoS being the new guy it doesn't look good. I'm not saying it won't happen but I'm not holding my breath either. But who knows? I'd be color happy if they announced it.

We think that the 1999 "Demon Castle War" game is vaporware.  That is, a 'concept' of a title that never went beyond a brief mentioning as an event in the Castlevania timeline, with no mention of it ever becoming a game at all.

Sadly, it's been many years and new consoles like the 3DS and Vita and the majority of us do not think that it will be coming out, especially now that Castlevania is being taken in new directions by companies like MercurySteam with the big titles.

The person who would push for such a title would be Koji Igarashi, and we do not think he's in charge of the Castlevania series any longer.

Koji Igarashi, and we do not think he's in charge of the Castlevania series any longer.

That's very depressing to read.

For me it's not at all unexpected. Throughout Castlevania's history there has always been a new director. IGA is known for having stuck around the longest, however that wasn't necessarily a good thing. IGA essentially burned himself out. some of his ideas were good while others just plain terrible. He always produced the game first then molded the story around it; That's one of the worst ways to make a game. A part of me is glad he didn't produce the 1999 game while he had the chance (which were quite a few) cause it could have gone either way. If there ever is to be a 1999 game then we need a new director with fresh incite and a passion for the series. But if IGA is needed for the project then he should be an assistant director. Maybe in that way he won't get carried away with his backwards methods and the game might have a strong chance at succession.

It's good that IGA never made the 1999 game, because for the final Battle between the Belmonts and Dracula, I don't think the Classicvania, Metroidvania, or Kratosvania formats would be useful for a game of that epicness and scope.

It would have to be huge, like... Skyrim huge.

I've often wondered what Castlevania would be like with Lords' combat system and Skyrim's general scale and inFamous' story-centric but still sandbox style progression.

Done properly, it would be epic. I think so, at least.
How not to be a dark lord: the answer to that is a terribly interesting answer that involves an almost Jedi-like adherence to keeping oneself under control and finding ways to be true to yourself in a way that doesn't encourage the worst parts of you to become dangerously exaggerated and instead feeds your better nature. Also, protip: don't fuck with Alchemy or strike up any deals with ancient Japanese Shinigami gods no matter how tempting the deal or how suavely dressed the Shinigami is.

It's good that IGA never made the 1999 game,
I don't think that IGA or any other developer would be able to make justice to the whole scale of the 1999 project and events surrounding it - AOS hyped it as something very awesome and epic.
I think an attempt to make this game will end up in failure, partially because it should be really something impressive and partially because after so much time of waiting everyone have different idea on what this game should be. Even if somehow 1999 project will be realized, I am sure very many people in the fandom would be disappointed, because it will be very different from what they expected.

So, I think it's better to stay as "(perfect?) Castlevania game that will never be (officially) realized", rather than have another game that will tore fandom further apart (if that's even possible).

Oh believe me. It is possible, and we will live to see it.

I miss being like him, all full of hope for the franchise and all.

*sighs*

Good days, those.

And then Konami copied Capcom and began raping the fandom in the name of MORE CASH.

The dirty feeling just never goes away.

No, no, They haven't QUITE reached Capcom levels of stupid yet. That will be something very hard to top. Rather Castlevania as a franchise has fallen in a similar boat to megaman in that Konami doesnt seem to be too sure what to do with it. the LoS timeline wont last forever, since Cox and MS seem intent on keeping it short and sweet rather than long and drawn out. After that's done, they will have to do something else, and their other two experiments in the past, Judgement and HD, were NOT too well received. For different reasons of course, but the point stands. And IGA himself and his Metroidvania entries, had started to get stale and not sell or review as well I guess.

For Mega Man, at least while Capcom's "Top Men" decide on where to go next, the Blue Bomber is at least enjoying a boom in merchandise and print media. With the D-Arts Figures and the Model Kits and shit, as well as the Archie comic AND the Udon localizations of sourcebooks and mangas.

Castlevania on the other hand, doesnt have all of that. I guess it's the tradeoff for having actually broken into the 3rd dimension with some degree of success in it's previous tries, and with much higher acclaim this time around, vs Mega Man, Which has never been well done in 3D, and the only 3D games which were well received, never sold well and actually caused Capcom financial trouble.

They have also neither of them gotten any sort of anniversary acknowledgement. But then neither has Metroid.
Laura and Gabriel arrive in the deepest cave of the castle and... they find IGA.
