Well yeah, the title says it all... but I'll add more.

Extra higher difficulty second loops or more are the most excellent way to increase replay & fun for videogames in my opinion. And it seems to me after playing the Gradius series extensively that a lot of Konami games have them. So I was very shocked and impressed to find out that the Castlevania games, that I'm really getting into right now, have them too! Only sadly not all of them have it (I think?). So a topic listing them all + how many seems like a great idea (well at least for the classic Castlevania games). ... That and I can't wait to find out for myself.

The only two that I know of that have the difficulty loop is CV III and SCV IV.

I know the original CV does and technically so does PoR if you want to count the level caps

Castlevania Chronicles has a number of loops as well, I believe.

CV1, CV3, SCV4, and almost every metroidvania, I think.

CoD also has its CRAZY mode, which is fucking hard.

You do realize he's talking about Classicvanias, right?
It is precisely because it never cared, that people do care.  It's something which it's lacking, because that which it has, it has lackluster of.
^^
You are now reading this in Robert Belgrade's voice.

Then Lords of Shadow 2 just takes a big, semi-solid, smelly, pea-green dump all over everything.

Yeah he's not talking just about "Hard Mode".
He's talking about, specifically, games in which the game restarts at a new difficulty loop and you keep your score.  It's an arcade game mechanic, not really an exploration game mechanic.

Yeah, I meant the classic vania games, but the metroid ones are pretty close at least, so it's OK to have them in too (I'm trying to play through the ones I haven't played since back in the days, from Aria and onwards)

In regards to no extra difficulty and second or more loops only. Not quite. Bloodlines second loop can be accessed why Konami code, and then you get access to the extra harder difficulty setting which is same as loop 2 difficulty. So because of this, I guess, extra difficulty setting above normal to me seems the same as a second loop...? This make sense?

Hmm, I wonder if you beat Bloodlines on hard/second loop, if the game will loop again & at a harder difficulty still? (lol, I still need to beat this on normal still) And for that matter, any other Castlevania games loop more then once other then the X68000 game? (Wow, that game is supposed to be crazy hard to start with, and this is the game that loops more then once?! :o)

Chronicles isn't terribly difficult except for the clock tower which I always have a lot of trouble on the area before the boss, and the boss itself. Dunno why it gives me so much trouble.

But I can't remember if I've beaten the game looped or not.
Oh yeah, and also:

Does the Arrange Mode in Chronicles have the loops as well?
