I see that they are releasing original Game Boy games like some of the Mario Land and Zelda titles. My guess is that up next they will do Game Boy Color, so who knows if and when we will see GBA on the 3DS. I know they can do it because they gave away those Ambassador GBA games last year, including Mario Kart Super Circuit which a bunch of fans were complaining that they wanted to purchase but could not.

I wonder if they are waiting a few years before they put GBA titles on 3DS. But by the time they get around to it, they may be ready for the next handheld system, so they might make us wait for that one.

I probably would not purchase any of the Castlevania GBA games on 3DS because I still have the Gamecube with Game Boy Player, and would rather play those games on the TV. But it still would be great for these games to be released on 3DS so others could enjoy.

How do they look running on the Game Boy Player? Are they heavily pixelated due to the increased screen size?

I think they look good, especially AoS and CotM. GBA was a 32bit system so they were able to put in a good amount of detail as compared with say SCV4, but it shows that they were designed for a lower-res screen. Look up some youtube videos of the games running on the player to see what you think. The GB player also has the option to blur/smooth the pixels somewhat. It should be noted that the dpad on the gamecube is terrible though, at least with the way it is placed. You can use the joystick though.

I don't think it ruins the games, because the Player was made for GBA games. I don't even think it messes up the Game Boy Color games either.

I wouldn't want you to run out and buy a Gamecube just for this in case you don't like the resolution, but I have no problem with playing the GBA and Game Boy Color games on the Gamecube. Maybe you can try it out at a used game store to see if you like it.

Actually now that I think about it, there are quite a few GBA games that I have only played on Gamecube, and never on the actual GBA. I found it easier to play the Castlevania and Mario games on Gamecube due to the controller. I know when I bought the Gamecube Player I wound up getting a bunch of Game Boy Color games that I would have never thought of before. I actually play more GBA and GBC games on the Gamecube than actual Gamecube titles.

As far as I know, there were some games that were 'optimized' for the Gameboy Player, meaning that if you played these games on the Gameboy Player, you would experience brighter graphics, etc.  There was a palette usually assigned just for the Gameboy Player.

If I recall, the games would have a calling card at start-up that said "Gameboy Player".  I remember also that some of the games added RUMBLE when you would play them on the Gameboy Player with your Gamecube Controller.  It would rumble, which was a kinda neat feature.  Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga was one of these.

I can see this happening. Castlevania The Adventure is available, right? Now we just have to wait for the eshop to start selling GBA titles.

That could possibly take awhile, though I would love to be proven wrong.

I'd like GBA CV's on the 3DS, with a graphical and sound upgrade.
