Lament of Innocence and Curse of Darkness are so disappointing to me that it really doesn't matter which one is better or worse. Actually, Curse of Darkness is more disappointing, not necessarily because it's a worse game, but because, as mentioned, the problems with Lament weren't addressed at all, but made even worse. It's so hard for me to grasp that the same guy who fronted Aria of Sorrow, an incredibly intelligent and inspired game in all areas --sans for an overpowered weapon/soul or two-- is the same guy who fronted those two games. As someone who puts out creative pieces of work on display for myself and others to enjoy, I can't possibly imagine doing that, especially if I was getting paid.
Anyway, I don't really mind if no work is done on the game. It's really not even worth it, in my mind. No matter how much you polish that thing, a turd is going to be a turd. If work would be done on it, I'd like to see work done on it that would actually make a real difference (yeah, I know that will never happen). I'm only so hard on those games because I care (as corny as it sounds). It's sad to see two things with so much potential that I'd really love to love fail horribly because of incredibly boneheaded design decisions. There are some Castlevania games that I dislike, and some others that I hate and find offensive, but I don't think I could ever bring myself to hate LoI or CoD. They just make me somewhat forlorn.
