Topic: Simon was always a redhead.

This is directed at those people who complained about how Kojima gave Simon red hair in her redesign of him. I can't believe I didn't those this before but if you take a look at the Japanese manual for the original NES game you can see Simon has red hair as well. He has brown hair on the cover art for the game but I consider the manual artwork to be closer to the creator's intentions. So Kojima's design is actually very faithful in that regard.

I always thought Simon's hair was more Auburn then brown to be honest.

In game his hair's color is brown (Castlevania 1 Nes). In Vampire killer his hair is black. In Simon's Quest it's also black. In "Chronicles PS1" it's purple! May be he just likes to dye his hair in different colors.

For simplicities sake, I tend to ignore the hair color used in sprites. I think artwork takes precedence over that anyway, since what looks good in artwork does not always look good sprite-wise. However, that still leaves us with Simon having  auburn/brown, blond and red hair. And that's just counting CV1, 2 and Chronicles.

The ones I like are the Simons from SCIV and CvChronicles.
Other is the Simon from Haunted Castle. I think is because i love how difficult was that CV (to me).



But... then i met the Simon from Castlevania PoR.

I haven't looked at my Famicom Classics version of the first game in a while but this does sound familiar.

Of course it's not like the characters across the games don't already have bazillions of different hairstyles already.

I personally want his hair color as red.
However, Simon is Simon so hair color doesn't matter much.
