Behold and despair............. :P

Dave Cox wants a link to the future:http://www.nintendolife.com/news/2013/02/castlevania_producer_would_love_to_work_with_nintendo_on_zelda

I'm a massive fan of Zelda, so would I like to work on a Zelda-game...I'd love to work on a Zelda-game, that'd be amazing. How would I change it? I don't really know. I mean, I think I would make it more like Ocarina of Time, because that's the kind of Zelda-game I really, really like. You know, the wonder of exploring that whole world that felt like a cohesive whole...it all felt like it belonged together. So I think that would be something I'd love to do.

That's quite a difficult question to answer, but if Iwata-san is listening: I'd love to work on Zelda.

If only Cox's love for "cohesive worlds" would've rubbed off on Mirror of Fate. The castle areas felt anything but connected to each other.

Making "something like Ocarina of Time" is pretty much exactly what Nintendo probably WON'T be doing with Zelda in the future. I think it's safe to say that Dave Cox will never work on a Zelda game. But it's still cute that he has dreams, or something.

For cox thinking about touching another beloved franchise this is all i have to say;

Cop Out - NO NO NO NOOO
"Spirituality is God's gift to humanity...
Religion is Man's flawed interpretation of Spirituality given back to humanity..."

I'd pass. He'd probably dismiss the series as having a boyish depiction of high fantasy, and try to give it a darker edge this time around. :p
It's like Who Wants to Be a Millionaire, but instead it's Who Wants Fried Chicken? I do.

LOL, glad I wasn't the only one to think this. He'd probably say something about Nolaning up the LoZ franchise. You thought LoS looked like LotR, wait until you play as a Legolas-esque Link facing off against a Sauron-esque Ganon.

Everything that used to be about coloful/whimsical art styles all have to convert to the dark, gritty look, or be purged from pop culture! Old Mega Man had to die so we could have this:

Why do people keep calling that FPS Megaman "Gritty"! That is NOT gritty. That is actually pretty vibrant still. Besides, with only 6 months of development before it got canned, we only have those videos to look upon what could have been, and from them, and the plot synopsis for the intended trilogy, It's not gritty. It's Mega Man Zero.

Its not even close to Megaman Zero, the only thing thats almost like in Megaman Zero is the shape of the gun. I will put Mario's clothes in Shadows of the Colossus main character and call it a Mario game. It seems to work lately.

The only thing that resembles Megaman in this video IMO is the armor, even so they changed it drastically to worse. Its like that Bomberman reimagining fiasco.

Now about Cox, he simply says how he will "change something in the game", "I will change it", "I will change that". When he will try to stay true to the core game? He can use his talents to create new enemies and new plots without changing what have been presented in the past, someone really need to put it in his head since it seems that he doesnt understand that.

Also, spoilers:

Zelda is already grimdark enough (seriously that world is all types of messed up if you think about it) we don't need it to become another origins story about Like becoming Ganon after absorbing the demon king Demise and that he's the father of Zelda and her twin brother Sheik.

But tbh, I still hope for one day we get a steampunk Zelda game.

Yeah that wouldn't be a mess at all. You'd be able to see the dumb plot twist a mile away, for one.

I don't think they were trying to hide the plot twist. It was pretty obvious from the beginning. That doesn't mean that it's not a good story. It's not the route I would have taken, but it's a lot more depth into the story of CV than was there before.

LOS was a great game, it brought in new fans to the series. MOF was a disappointment, but I think that was because they tried to make it too much like SOTN to cater to disgruntled fans of LOS.

All of this Cox bashing should wait until LOS2 is released. If it's as good as LOS was, there's no reason to complain about Mercury Steam. I think the trailer looks incredible.
The worst monsters are human.

Link is an orphaned youth living in a modernized city similar to New York. The game actually looks like it takes place in our world, Earth. There are many legends of an alternate dimension that ancient humans once inhabited, before the politically-corrupt powers-that-be took control of Earth. He is a typical bad kid, but one day receives a mysterious letter from an unknown source, signed "Z." It tells him to go find the old priest Sahashrala in Europe. Sahashrala tells him that he is of royal lineage, gives him the royal sword that has been used in his family for centuries, and he must collect 4 crystals located in several "mystical" spots of our world (Stone Henge, Easter Island, etc.). But before he can find them, he must first enter the portals to the "Dark World" that are at these spots, so he can truly locate them since they don't exist in our dimension. This "Dark World" resembles Hyrule but a lot more dark & gritty. Link traverses this world finding the crystals, all the while going back & forth to Earth for side missions and transportation. Lots of "reimagined" enemies & characters. During one of these many journeys he finally meets Zelda on Earth, the daughter of a Diplomat bent on controlling the world by opening the portal to both worlds. Once Link collects the crystals, Sahashrala appears & steals them, kidnaps Zelda and flees to Earth. Distraught over his betrayal, Link goes after him & finds him in Trump Tower, where Zelda's father is also located. Sahashrala reveals himself to be a pawn of Zelda's dad, who reveals himself to be a sorceror that's bent on resurrecting the devil Ganon using the crystals to take revenge after Link's ancestor sealed him. He reveals that he raised Zelda to be a sacrifice to Ganon, as the ultimate sign of his loyalty to him. But he also needed the power of the combined crystals to merge the dimensions. The merging of the 2 dimensions will release enough energy to break Ganon's seal. Link is defeated, but in a mystical state, his ancestors revive him using Holy power. A reinvigorated Link takes his sword, now transformed to the Master Sword, and defeats Zelda's dad, much to her sadness. Sahashrala then has a change of heart, since he was unknowingly corrupted by the evil magic, and attempts to stop the crystals from merging the worlds of Earth & Hyrule. The various monsters of Hyrule begin to manifest themselves on Earth. Sahashrala is too late, and discovers that the merger will be complete in 7 days, causing utter chaos. However, Link gets caught in the rift, and is transported to Hyrule at the top of an ancient temple. Now for the plot twist
