Weird Castlevania ideas for the future

MS reign is ending in a glimpse, and the future of Castlevania is a big question mark.
We can all suppose what's going to happen between a couple of options... It's back to Konami Japan, or its given to another studio.
The continuation of the MS legacy, as well as the return of Iga, are unlikely options.

But... what if something else happens?
Something completely different?
Something... weird?
A Castlevania RPG, for example, with an open world and turn-based battles.
That's just one option. Maybe an MMORPG?
Maybe they'll go the Dead or Alive route and they give us a new games, Castlevania Xtreme Paradise, where we find all the CV girls in a beach, courtesy of Aeon again, or in medieval brothel, who knows?
Or maybe they think about us girls and we have a game with all male CV characters with a story like Magic Mike (the movie).
Perhaps they choose to experiment with the FPS and they try to follow the success of Bioshock Infinite... or maybe they go The Last Of Us route and they try a futuristic Castlevania with a third person shooter game.
Or, what if they want to make a Castlevania racing game? Or a Castlevania party game? (like Mario Party)... and what about a sports game? Castlevania Soccer Stars, Castlevania Baseball Championship? Megaman and Mario are no strange to this idea, after all.
And what about a music game? Konami owns the DDR franchise, so they can make a fusion of CV and DDR, even with an exclusive guitar, drums and keyboard (Castlevania-tuned, of course, and with brand-new CV remixes).
A medieval sandbox would be something original, too.
I'd say a fighter, a puzzle, or a multiplayer game, but that's already been done  :P
So, we can't say none of these weird ideas I mentioned could ever, never happen.

I'm thinking wild here, but let your imaginations just do that, run wild, and post about your darkest CV desires (like the game on a beach), wild dreams (like a CV RPG) and irrational possibilities for a game (Magic Mike?), and also, if you want, talk about what you seriously think about the future.

I mean, we've had in these last years Order of Eclessia, Rebirth, Encore of the Night, Judgment, CV The Arcade, Order of Shadows, 3 Pachislots and 3 Lords of Shadow, so it seems for CV anything's possible.

Would you rather have no more games if the only route is a weird one?
Would you like to see a series of experiments with the CV brand?
Now I'm tired, eternally walking... forever dying, and never stopping. I feel in sorrow, all I see is white. I’m following a blind way beneath a sad sky.

Castlevania: Dance Inferno

Set in the far future, where disco and the 80's are not only hip again - they are the very basis of society. Step in to the shadows of the hell house. "Hell" meaning Hell of a time in da house.

Dracula runs a club called "Demonic Megiddo". Belmont is a Travolta-like dancing prodigy. The Grim Reaper is the head of club security. Alucard is the bratty son of the "The Count" (he gained this nickname because anyone who has tried a dance off with him, has dropped down for the count while Drac kept on rocking). He idolizes The Crow movies, has a coke habit and writes bad poetry. And of course hates disco, because he hates his dad.

"Vampire Killer" = The spiffy outfit and shoes worn by the dancing Belmont family for generations.

Cameo by IGA, wearing his cowboy hat.

I want the RPG! It could be a side story, not directly "guy kills dracula".

Also, some day i'm gonna pitch my idea of a Survival horror to Konami, the game is played from the perspective not of a hero, but of a simple soldier taken hostage in the battle of 1999 (or WW or whatever you like) as he's a normal human those monsters are not for killing but for running from, and the many traps and labyrinthine rooms of the Castle are being seen with fear. The only goal is escaping the Castle alive, but for a normal guy it might be almost impossible, and even if he succeds, who says his mind will remain intact.

Everything comes full circle

The main efforts of the series should remain action-adventure, but I could DEFINITELY be behind an CV RPG spinoff. That, and your survival horror idea, seem right up CV's alley. Interesting idea, the whole "escape the castle alive" could also be applied to, say, a villager that is taken by Dracula. Imagine a whole village is sacked, and the villagers round up for the purpose of being impaled(for Drac's twisted amusement). You're in the dungeon and break free. Your goal is not only to escape(perhaps that's half the adventure), but to FIND the Belmont hero and let he know what's happening. There could totally be a full-length game out of something like that, where the majority of it is "staying alive", but you also have some limited resources(maybe like the first RE game). You can defend yourself WHEN you have to, but it's advised that you use your brain to get around obsticles rather than go through them. You AREN'T a Belmont or magically powerful sorcerer, but a common villager. You can probably bash in the head fo a zombie or shatter a skeleton, but you aren't one to be going head to head to a werewolf or vampire. Though your soldier idea's great too, because it would give a little more power to the player(use of guns, but still limited ammo).

>Castlevania RPG

Oh man. I'm all for one if Konami gets tri-Ace to do one in the style of Valkyrie Profile. My only problem with that idea is... well, they might just as well just give us a new Metroidvania if it's gonna be 2-D/2.5D.

>Castlevania FPS

I actually thought of a non-canon one a few years back. You're a Belmont descendant in charge of a Church-run paramilitary aquad (ala Clive Barker's Undying) that's raiding the Demon Castle. At first you start with traditional firearms but as the game progresses you start uncovering more of your Belmont legacy and ultimately find the Vampire Killer for the showdown with Dracula.

Well, I could go for an RPG spinoff. Maybe make it open world and star either Sypha or Yoko Belnades.

Hey maybe a game about Dracula's rise to power. Wait, scratch that. That's going to be LoS2. Well, a re-rise to power by regaining your powers.

Then again, I can't ignore a truly terrifying survival horror game. Castlevania has so much potential for survival horror. Maybe a post-DoS game in which Soma has been kidnapped and his Power of Dominance sealed away. Try to survive and get to the keep where at the end of the game, you absorb the castle's power giving him all of Dracula's powers so he can slay Julius, who has been brainwashed and is intent on killing Soma before old age kills him. After slaying Julius at the end of the game, you fight Alucard (the true final boss) at his full power in the epic battle that will finally determine the successor of Dracula and new master of the castle. There could be two endings: 1) you win and Soma becomes the Lord of Darkness as the prophecy predicted; 2) you lose and Alucard loses his humanity and he claims the throne as is his birthright as Dracula's only child. And yes, both ending end with the Belmont line wiped out and the rise of a new dark lord, but who said games had to have a happy ending?
Behold my power and tremble

Cool plot, it sounds like a movie!
Some Kukeiha Club remixes with 80's sound could be totally in place here!

Awesome idea! I didn't think of that genre!
Make it a girl, like in Haunting Ground, and we have a winner!

That's another one I'd like to be done, especially after I played Bioshock Infinite.

It seems that the RPG and survival horror ideas are gaining fans!  :)
In the unlikely event that someone from Konami ever reads this, we stand a remote chance of seeing it done.

Let's keep adding ideas!

Here's one from me: the story of the real blood countess whose Elizabeth Bartley was based on (her name was Elizabeth Bathory).
She used to hunt maidens for her own desires and amusement, like putting them in an iron maiden or bathing in blood. That's a hugely macabre story, I know, but if done right, it could make for a great survival horror game. You can play as one of the maidens, trying to escape Elizabeth's castle, and during the game you will be finding others maidens' belongings and talking with theirs ghosts, knowing their stories and releasing them (like in Clock Tower 3).

Wow, that game writes itself! I didn't think of all that when I started writing!
How is it that no one at Konami thinks about something like this?

Or the RPG? Castlevania has always been screaming RPG with its look!
Come on Konami! Look here!  :P

A soldier?

That's nicer than I'd be if I were designing a survival horror Castlevania.

Want to know what I'd put you in control of?  An actor.  You're not the Belmont.  You're the guy that was going to play Simon Belmont in a movie.  (Or maybe the actress that was going to play the love interest.)  Dracula's Cult sees the movie you were making as an insult, so they've kidnapped you and they plan on feeding you to Dracula once he revives.

You've done a little bit of stunt work in your career, but you've never been in a real fight in your life.

Good look making it out alive, Keanu.

For gameplay reasons, mostly, witha  soldier you can defend yourself (limitedly) and you add the "ammunition management" factor, a la old Resident Evil, it also makes sense plot sense, but of course, if the game is about an actor, it better had a monologue that contains the world "charade" in patrick Stewart's accent.

Everything comes full circle

What about a story when you are one of the maidens abducted by the evil priest and the hero is suddenly and surprisingly killed, so you have to make your way out of the castle by yourself?
That would be 100% survival.

WAY back, someone on GameFAQs had a very interesting idea for a Nintendo DS Metroidvania. He said the music's always been one of the best things about CV, so why not incorporate it into an actual game?

As I recall, his protagonist was a Belnades-descended musician who somehow ends up in the Demon Castle. This guy could harness the power of music (amplified by his magical genes) to take on the castle's monsters, so you could use use them to attack, solve puzzles, or reach new areas as long as you can find the proper musical notes for them. At certain scripted moments, the latter two situations would have you using the stylus to simulate playing a violin. All in all, this guy's gameplay mechanic was a cross between AOS' Soul System and OOE's Glyphs, with a dash of the DOS Magic Seal one.

It's been more than a decade since I read his idea. And I'd still love to see it made for 3DS.

What about a story when you are one of the maidens abducted by the evil priest and the hero is suddenly and surprisingly killed, so you have to make your way out of the castle by yourself?
That would be 100% survival.

So... Castlevania goes Super Princess Peach?  :D

I would like a pure music game just like the vocaloid games for the psp or taiko no tatsujin with all the best castlevania tunes.

CV:RPG, if I am not mistaken, I read a rumor here that Konami is planning that.

I would really like to see a game that continues the story of Akuma no Chi. They could hire the author, Ichiro Tezuka, to write the plot of the game and maybe the illustrator, Masaki Takahashi, too. I believe he also did the artwork for Demon Souls, assuming it's the same person. The four Belmont characters of the story, Simon, Ray, Lias, and Civil could be the protagonists.

CV:RPG, if I am not mistaken, I read a rumor here that Konami is planning that.

Link, please!

Oh, right. I remember that. Well, I think they just meant they want to make Castlevania a franchise with several continuities instead of letting everything take place in one big timeline, which is what Final Fantasy also does. I don't think it indicates a RPG being in the works.  :-\
