Its because of the arena thing isnt it? In almost all games you need to fight bosses in a locked room, rarely I see a game where you fight a boss with a entire stage where you can walk or even run (RE3 did it right with Nemesis)
That, and the fact that many times they are extremely long, so they end up being terribly boring.
Now I'm tired, eternally walking... forever dying, and never stopping. I feel in sorrow, all I see is white. I’m following a blind way beneath a sad sky.

I've never had a problem with boss arenas. If there is ANYTHING that needs to be in an arena, it's the boss battles. The thing is, they could use variety while designing the arenas. Platforming, interesting topoography, and scenery you can interact with. It shouldn't just be a large square, rectangle or circle room/floor. Do something interesting, dammit!!

That being said, arenas are ONLY for bosses. They should never be used for common enemies. LoI and CoD did that, and LoS did that in both the first game and MoF. CV should be an arena-less action-adventure game. Who cares if OTHER games do it? It's one of those parental moments, "So, your friends jump off a bridge, does that mean you're going to do it too?!".  ;D That and QTEs!

What?! Valis is awesome especially Super Valis 4.

I think so too. But personally Super Valis 4 was a pale port of the TG-16 CD game. The turbo due version had cutscenes, two extra characters, and a more in-depth story. The only thing forgettable about it was the music. Super Valis 4 on the SNES is relatively weak all around however it's music is where it shines the brightest; superior to the turbo due's music by light years.
