It's not for LoS fans, it's for people caught on hype that haven't played LoS. I'm ok with this, really, as LoS2 seems to be very story heavy.

Everything comes full circle

I imagine a classic timeline collection would be trickier because of the sheer number of cross platform spanning titles. You've got Castlevanias on everything from the NES, to the Genesis, to the PS2, and even obscure as hell consoles like the PC Engine. Not to mention handhelds.

if they made an ENTIRE collection, it would be a collector's box of epic proportions. (And I'm ok with that!)

And like Ahasverus said, this seems more for the slowpokes who are "just catching up"

Let's hope it's at least reasonably priced for what that means.

I imagine that later down the line a proper collection will be made, no doubt with a few more goodies tossed in here or there. (Well we can dream, no?)

LOL, yeah, that's kinda an arrogant thing to put in the description.

A futile attempt to get people to buy his games. Poor guy can't face the fact that no one wants to play his pitiful excuses for Castlevania games.

Theoretically this should fix the framerate issues with Mirror of Fate, especially if there is a PC version. I might give it a go if that's the case.

I still don't think it'll be that great, but it may actually be playable now.

How stupid is that? In many ways...

Anyway, this collection seems like a scam. Even for LoS fans. Why not wait until LoS 2 is released?
I see it like: "Hey, let's steal a little more money from people before we are done with this s**t, and let's try to fool a few more players who we still didn't fool and don't know how the games are".

And meanwhile, a collection from the main timeline remains unreleased.

I think to do a Castlevania collection you can't do it in one go there is too many titles and it would be super mad expensive.
The best way to do it is a box set that collects all Classic Castlevania games : Castlevania 1, Vampire Killer, Castlevania Simon Quest, Castlevania 3, Super Castlevania, Rondo of Blood, the Igrashi remake of Castlevania 1 and Legacy of Darkness (Castlevania 64).

Then you can have a 2nd box set which would be Symphony of Night Saga or a better title : Symphony of the night, Harmony of Dissonance, Dawn of Sorrow, Aria of Sorrow, Portrait of Ruin, Order of Ecclesia and possibly Lament of Innocence and Curse of Darkness (Although their inclusion isn't necessary). Presto you have two nice box sets to satisfy the majority of Castlevania fans. I didn't include the Gameboy games because other then novelty I doubt most people would miss them and we are looking at box sets that will satisfy and sell (But you know I doubt including them will be major issue so maybe they should include them in 1st box set although its not a big deal).

Basically I couldn't careless about Lord of Shadow boxset all I care about is my downloadable HD mirror of fate. :P I wait for it to come out.

It's just a cheesy marketing description. The kind of thing you see on the back of a box. those are never fully accurate, or anything other than a cheesy advert for whats in the game.

Was there any word on a standalone PC release for MoF?

Since they will launch a standalone MoF for consoles, theres a chance. It would be very cool to have a complete trilogy for PC, then modders can make the game better :P

I'm glad I held off on purchasing a 3DS.  Great news, I'll picking up the Xbox Live version.

Odd that a PC version has been left out. But apparently Cox is saying that they're "Looking into it."

Which can also mean "A PC version does exist but it's coming out at a later date."
