So I tried LRFFXIII and well I thought it was fun so my question is why do people hate the XIII series? And it better not be under the realm of oh it's different so it sucks attitude.

The battle systems is real time I could combo it up some what. I just had a bunch of fun with it why is it that 2014 has so many good games?

I'll say this I had more fun with this demo that the LoS2 Demo so.... Yeah I just really liked it.

I'll have to play it again for a more in depth analysis of it.

I don't hate the XIII series, I just hate FFXIII. XIII-2 was a little better IMO but it's still not a avery good game. HOWEVER (!), I am really excited for Lightning Returns because it looks like a really good game this time.

I don't understand why some people would write this game off just because they hated XIII. I judge each and every game on their own, especially when they seem so different from each other as XIII and LR. But maybe that's just me...

For me FFXIII wasn't that good, gave up half way through the game, it was so linear, not only in exploration, but also in characters stats growth, scenario was good, the music wasn't something special, combat system was ok. Now for FFXIII-2, the battle system was the same, the scenario was ok, music was far better than FFXIII and while Square-Enix was telling that it was not linear, still for me it felt linear, but still, it was more enjoyable than FFXIII, haven;t finish it yet, i'm before the final chapter, maybe when i feel like it, i'll catch it again.

Honestly, I think all the dislike stems from the different approach and tone (i.e. there aren't any knights and castles and it's too sci-fi-esque), and the linear gameplay in both the game itself and character development (XIII-2 did a much better job of Crystarium development IMO). That's my opinion, anyway. I don't agree remotely with the plot or music being subpar, though.

I'm pretty excited about Lightning Returns, especially with THAT FUCKING CLIFFHANGER at the end of XIII-2. >:(

What kind of RPG game, have your characters locked from further upgrading, until you beat x boss, that you'll have to have all the luck in the world to beat with their sucked up stats?

I got upset just reading this. Brings back so many bad memories. It was a terrible, TERRIBLE idea!

I kept going in this game because I thought the graphics were pretty. That is all.

Lightning Returns looks like it has a vast, open world! I'm all about worlds when it comes to RPGs. I am worried about the battle system and the timer, but other than that it looks cool IMO.

I preordered LR and I have never played a FF game. I'm playing 7 right now actually, for the first time. (although I was exposed to it as a kid and like the story, so it's not like a real first time experience.)

I played the demo because everyone and their mother was talking about the game, and well, it was fun as fuck. preordering also nets me that sweet Cloud Costume.
Laura and Gabriel arrive in the deepest cave of the castle and... they find IGA.
