I came across I neat facebook page called Operation: Akumajo. Page description-

 At Operation: Akumajo, we believe Akumajo Dracula is the heart and soul of Castlevania. We believe in its Japanese design, its culture of gothic romance, and the superiority of its 2D action-platforming. Our mission is to celebrate, support, and defend Akumajo Dracula, unite the Castlevania fanbase, and hold Konami to the highest possible standards of quality and fan service.

It was irresponsible for Konami to reboot Castlevania without providing over 20 years of existing continuity a worthy and proper closure. Akumajo fans have waited over 10 years to play Koji Igarashi’s legendary Demon Castle War. Therefore we challenge Konami to acknowledge their negligence and begin developing this game in good faith immediately. Quality is not negotiable. We insist Konami spare no expense returning 2D Akumajo Dracula to home consoles in full modern glory.

not new. if you dig through topics you'll find the original thread. akumajo was ridiculously entitled and just couldn't be taken seriously.

it tried to compare itself to operation rainfall, but it was all just about it's founder. it was "i dont like los so konami should listen to me!"

grom what i recall he wasnt very professional about that and insisted on pushing his opinion as some kind of professional fact or something.

Those clowns are so entitled and arrogant that while having good intentions I can't like them. However they are loud enough that perhaps they saved the Akumajou series in some form. I dunno. We'll see. More CV=I'm happy.

I just don't like OA's entitled demands. It's all about what it's founder wants, not about some group of people trying to do something.

They have good intentions and all but Operation Akumajo just comes off as a bunch of entitled whiney crybabies.

Unlike Operation Rainfall, which actually got shit done, Operation Akumajo was just one or two people just demanding the return of one person so that he could do a game that he never had any intention of doing in the first place. And in the end all they've accomplished was making fan fiction that will never go anywhere.

Eh, they're not clowns, they're just a bit misguided. They've got the right idea, but they won't get anywhere so long as they keep specifically demanding Konami to develop 1999. That isn't how minds change, especially when you're dealing with corporate brands. You can't exactly expect them to do requests -- they might react if a sufficient part of their fanbase expresses an interest in a certain style of gameplay, but they certainly won't cave in to a single group hammering on about one particular producer's return to create one particular game. That will never happen.

Operation Moonfall was already given up on insisting Nintendo to port Majora Mask on 3ds right? I hope it's the same thing as Operation Akumajo by facing the reality check like Operation Moonfall does.

They also got some artist guy to draw Dracula and Julius 1999 era for them. Personally I think they look good. For the group it self I'm a part of it but I'll be surprised if it goes anywhere. At least they're trying right?

No real issue there. At least you didn't commit thread necromancy, right? OA has been around since after the first LoS made it's debut which left some of us feeling betrayed at CV's new direction. Many of us were willing to help and we even gave Cecil-Kain ideas on how to better deliver his petition without sounding like a demand. Unfortunately nothing of our wanting to help him ever came about. I think on some level he tried, but in the end he went his own way believing it to be the better one.

Though I wonder what happened to Cecil-Kain.

He did pop into the Dungeon roughly two/three months ago. Not sure what the topic was that grabbed his attention.

People can bash cecil-kain as much as they want. At least he's being proactive with Operation Akumajo, despite his misguided methods and stubborn thoughts on his own ideas being superior than anything we suggested. He's unhappy with the direction the series has been going in, and he's actually doing something about it. Call him entitled or whiny or whatever, but the same could be said of any person who wants something changed about a series they've invested years of love into and don't want to see fade away because of perceived bad choices by the developers....and actually stepped up and attempted to get his dissatisfaction noticed.

I'm sure Operation: Rainfall got its fair share of criticism from people who said "Man, just be happy we got any Mega Man Legends games at all! Stop whining for something we didn't happen to get!"

(Note: I've butted heads with c-k alot in the past and I do think his way of going about things isn't the right way in terms of rallying people to his cause due to his own arrogance, but we're all Castlevania fans. No point in ripping each other apart when we all want more well-developed Castlevania in the end.)
