Here is an interesting question that has me thinking for a short while, Which Castlevania is bigger (the castle). i've never played the classic series ,so you guys have better knowledge on that. But i do know that the LoS Castle is the size of a city (the city in modern times in LoS2 was built on the foundations of the castle) From what i have seen in the artwork for both castle and city in LoS2, i can theorize that it's the largest 'Castlevania' to date, you guys can offer some insight whether i am correct or not. This is just something that's been on my mind. your help would be appreciated.

Well, I know for a fact, most of the castles from the ( MSX, NES, PC88, PCE, SMS ) and so forth, usually are replicating whatever Germany or Austrian castle, that Disney world is replicating. If not then it is Disney world. However we have the original castle of the real "Vlad the Impaler" who spent the rest of his life, living in his virtual fortress, as a prison, because outside was the people who fought against him. I mention "Vlad the impaler", because the castle from the N64 game ( which you can see clearly in the beginning, and after or before a boss battle ), is that same exact castle.

In logic sense, because of that, it does not really matter at all. There is nothing special about the Castle, asides it is poltergeist phenomenon. In SOTN, it was shown that Dracula is in the underworld, where the twin of this castle is. Another problem is how the Castle crumbles away, this is probably stolen from various fairy tales or the movie "Krull" ( a lot of things are stolen from Crull, if you have not noticed ). The Castle is probably just apart of him, in a way a turtle is actually part plant, or the goo from "Ghost Busters II".

Honestly I do not really care, all I know the castle will all have the similar levels. I do not think any Castle, has not have the same or similar levels removed.

Not completely sure but I think the largest castle as far as areas and scope goes is the one from Dawn of Sorrow.

Just imagine that castle on a 3.D plane and how large it would be compared to LOS2's castle.

As far as actual in-game traversable map, Dawn most likely.

As far as "story" and whatnot goes, probably The LoS castle.
Laura and Gabriel arrive in the deepest cave of the castle and... they find IGA.

I don't have any idea. Best to leave this one to the experts. Again..

But i did find this http://www.gameinformer.com/b/news/archive/2013/08/10/real-estate-blog-prices-dracula-39-s-castle-in-castlevania.aspx

I think i found the fact that somebody would take the time to do that more interesting than what they did.

Going only by lore for both timelines, the castles can change themselves according to the current Lord. So I guess it depends on who is the current Lord of the castle/personal preference. For me the largest one is the LoS Bernhard castle. It's said to be never completely mapped out, and it looks downright amazing.

But..but that's just the castle in the NES game and it is not as massive as the other Castlevania games and it lacks the decor. The decor must count too, right? Juste would be mad if it didn't. LOL!

Technically Harmony of Dissonance, the castle had 2 layers.

Maybe also Nocturne for SS since it involved 2 castles, and the additional areas.

I think the outward appearance of Draculas Castle doesn't represent what you'll find inside. Its a force of chaos all of its own, so you could theoretically walk inside, and be lost forever in a space much larger than the outward appearance would lead you to believe.

SotN's castle always looked massive to me. You only explore on a 2D plane, but all the depth added in the backgrounds, especially in the Alchemy Lab, which it literally looks like there's an entire city within the castle), it's probably as big as LoS's castle in space, you jus don't explore that space. But to be fair, you don't explore all of that in the LoS games either. It's probably the equivalent of exploring Midgar in FFVII(it's a massive city that you only partially explore). I also kinda think LoS's castle was inspired by Carmilla's castle in Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust:

LOL, similar thing happened to me. I loaned my copy to my sister, who took it to her friend's house to watch during a get-together. Never got it back. Got another copy, though!

Yeah, i know. It's all i had though, lol.

Maybe it's not. I guess since the portals in LOI are meant to be part of the castle. Yeah, i would say that one is very large.
