As far as I know of, SotN 2 was that Alucard game IGA was working on when the LoS trailer made it's own debut. Has Konami reopened development of the Alucard game in secret throughout the whole LoS debacle? Who knows.

It's funny. I haven't been on this forum in some time, I haven't had much interest in the series or video games in months (had a baby, life gets busy) and I have yet to even purchase LOS2, let alone play even the demo, but this might be what gets me back into it. Really hoping this is true

That Alucard 3D game definitely looked fun. i mean visually, it looked no better than the PS2 games, but yknow, early footage and such. (and much like LoS' own trailer, neither were actual gameplay footage, despite the LoS teaser's claims- although the LoS one DID use "in game Assets")

It probably is not that same game though, this is on the 3DS, that was a next gen console game.

though i wish Konami would fucking stop with the handhelds, considering it's what nearly killed Castlevania to start with. You would think that with LoS' moderate overall success, they'd push for more Consolevanias, not throw the franchise back into it's handheld prison.

I fail to see the possibility. They are not Capcom, and their relationship with Castlevania is nothing alike. they actually try to push new CV titles. Capcom meanwhile, is totally out of touch with anything except their own wallets, and when something fails, they never try it again.

Also it's a possibility this is fake to begin with and we are fretting over nothing.

There was a magazine that had a silhouette of Gabriel 3 weeks prior to E3, then a mysterious "Mask" webpage showed up that linked right to the teaser site for Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker. Then a couple days before E3 started, a list of Konami's lineup leaked and had Metal Gear Solid Rising (before Revengance) Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker and Castlevania Lords of Shadow. And that's how everything came together.

As much as I don't want to set myself up for disappointment...

I forgot about the radio drama. Assuming this leak is legit, could the game possibly be a game adaptation and extensions of the radio drama? Anything is possible. Hell, it could be the Alucardvania we heard about years ago. I'm just a little disappointed that it is supposedly only for 3DS. I would want it to be a console game say PS3/XBox360 or PS4/XBOXone.

Regardless, I won't get my hopes up (or down) until I see what is said at E3.

In all fairness IGA had already desecrated CV's tomb with shoehorned stories, massive plotholes and almost anyone being able to kill Dracula.

oh come on X, not to be rude but it seems you take any possible jab at IGA that comes up.

We have been over this already on the forum, none of those characters beat Dracula at full power, Not to mention 3 of them (Alucard,Shanoa,and Hector) used his own bestowed power against him (hardly just "anybody" as you so adequately put it).

IGA in no way diminished the Belmonts or made it to where "anybody" could beat him, hell the way you make it sound a average Hunter could just stroll in and kill Dracula which clearly was not the case.

And in the end at least IGA did give the Belmonts the honor of finally putting a end to Dracula for good in 1999.

He just took the Belmonts out of the spotlight for some of his entries which I get can piss some people off, but come on man its not like they where reduced to nothing, they still played a big role in each one of his entries (minus OOE).


Now, as far as the rumor goes, As a huge fan of symphony Im hopeful, but as a realist I'm skeptic that it will be what I would want considering the very slim possibility the rumor is true.

If it where true I would fully expect a shoehorn into the LOS verse which others have pointed out with LOS Alucard being the main focal point, my hopes for such a game after Mirror of fate are pretty darn low.

But if its in the classic canon, not sure what It could be about really considering the radio drama pretty much was a sequel to symphony, and I always considered AOS as a sorta SOTN sequel as well, not sure what they could pull off here.

Except it was kind of the whole point. That only the Belmonts with vampire Killer, could end him. It diminishes his threat level otherwise. I like some of those spin offs myself, but lets be honest here, Dracula became a chew toy.

Dracula is just the ending boss of the game. He was never a threat in any of the games, otherwise, you would always lose in the end. If you really want to see it from this point of view, the player always win in the end, so he's not a threat at all.

Making him killable by anyone didn't change that, from a gameplay perspective, only from the story perspective, but who gives a shit for the story in Castlevania.
