Most Emotional Game? (Possible Game Spoilers)

What's the most emotional game you've ever played? One that just really tugs at your heart strings or strikes you deep down inside. It can be an entire game or a certain part of a game.

Please mark any spoilers.

For me, Lost Odyssey has to be the saddest game I've ever played. I don't think I've cried so much during a game. I just got to the part where you first meet Mack and Cooke and I cried nonstop throughout the entire scene. It was so sad... and the dreams that Kaim remembers are so well written and very moving.

I thought the ending to FFTactics was kinda sad - with Ramza & co. being killed by defeating Altima.

A lot of people think or thought Aeris' death in FFVII was sad, but I didn't. However I thought the part when Sector 7 collapses & kills Biggs Wedge & Jesse was pretty fucked up.

When Sonic Adventure 2 was released I thought the end was a bummer when Shadow seemingly falls to his death. That should've been Shadow's demise right there & left his character out of any other game.

Megaman X5 had a sad ending with Zero's destiny coming full circle. Again, they should've left that as is instead of churning out more sequels involving him.

There's a lot of RPGs that have emotional moments, can't think of any right now..

Some parts of Metal Gear Solid.

*HERE BE SPOILERS"

Especially Sniper Wolf's death. Poor Otacon...
In FFVII, I found Red XIII's scene at his father's statue to be much more sad than Aeris's death, really.

Normally I'd probably say Xenogears, since it did everything more or less almost perfectly. But emotional... hmmm.... Can't say it did, it did what it had perfectly, but it was never the tear jerking type.

The one I remember now..... either Valkyrie Profile or Lost Odyssey. But my memory is rather incomplete right now.

I never really got emotional in a game...except in Super Metroid when Mother Brain kills the Metroid that just saved your life.  I got so pissed off that dying was not an option.

BEST SNES GAME!!

Any of the Dynasty Warriors games. If you go in and read about all the characters, they all have rather sad endings. All the people in that game (except for a few) actually existed at one pointed in time, and they're all dead now.

Castlevania: Lords of Shadow sucks
DmC: Devil may Cry is the equivalent of trailer trash
"badly designed fat left on Lords of Shadow 2's bones."

Considering they lived quite a couple of centuries ago, I'd expect them to be dead.....

Shadow of the Colossus.  It was rough watching Agro fall down the chasm, but then when you see him limping back at the very end, it was just about too much to take.  It's awesome how a game with just about no dialogue can make you care about the characters so much.  Especially when one of those characters is a horse.

It was a little while ago since I've played it, but:

Cave Story

**some spoilers**

Yeah, I know its a very well made homebrew game and not one of those normal games coming from the industry. But I was rather shocked on what happened through the game and did get attached to the characters... I was crushed when I witnessed certain characters die in front of me, of who you wouldn't expect that to happen to. **(Curly comes to mind.)

The Longest Journey (2000) maybe fits the category. I remember gaving this game a chance. I didn't perticularly like it and wasn't the gaming experience it promised to be but I got very attached to the character and cared about what she went through.

Well, aren't you a quick one?

After playing for hours and hours with these characters that you grow attached to, then go read their biographies, it can get a bit sad.

Amen.

I was also really sad at the end of DMC3.  I am closer to my older brother than anyone.  So that one hit close to home.
