Still have my working cart, 2 working NES systems, plus the PC release with the first 2 games and both Contras, so I'm good.
I like your style!

Doesn't mean they should be trying to stiff you though. They're seriously lagging behind, making you rebuy the Virtual Console title for each device owned, and or upgrade at a price. It's a milking tactic, plain and simple.

And sure, you could remove them from the loop and emulate it as you mentioned. It would be nice to have a legitimate copy though, without being boned for a few dollars every time you want to play it on a different Nintendo console. I'd seriously buy a bunch of games if I knew I could play them on both my Wii and 3DS. Extra points knowing I'd have them there and fully featured if I get a WiiU too.

The fact that they JUST implemented cross console eShop accounts tells you everything you need to know on how backwards Nintendo's network policies are. The WiiU 'upgrade' charge is the epitome of milking bullshit. Don't think for a second it isn't deliberate, and completely targeted at our demographic (old gamers) hoping to cash in on the nostalgia.

Amen, I was going to mention that too. I mean how many times do we have to pay for 20 and sometime even 30 year old titles to have the convenience of playing on a next gen system?

I did a major accomplishment. I beat CVIII with Trevor alone no restore points or anything. Not an easy task. And while I do have the nes version(I beaten it with Sypha afew times) I like talking about it on miiverse as well as showing that certain things are possible.  Oh and I think passwords work I tried it on Simon's quest so maybe it should work on cvIII.

But of course, nothing like playing it on original hardware if one has the chance. :)

I got a Gamecube compatible Wii a few months ago with still no plans to get a Wii U.  With just regular Wii, all three NES, Super IV, the Japanese PCE Engine Rondo of Blood, and Adventure Rebirth are all avaiable for download.  Are they all still available for Wii U or do you have to wait for the Wii U specific?  Just curious what the big deal of WII U versions are?  I get the impressions it's ability to transfer to and play on the 3DS, access to some game specific forums, maybe recording your play, and sharing your recordings?

The Wii-U versions offer Off-TV play with the Gamepad as the input device.
This is different than porting your games from your Wii to a Wii-U, in which case they'd be available only in "Wii Mode" which, though you can use the Gamepad as a screen, you still have to use another input device (Wiimote/Classiccontroller) as the controller.

The bonus of the Wii-U version is the awesome Miiverse community:
Castlevania III: Dracula's Curse Miiverse Link

There you can share accomplishments or draw art, etc. all related to the game, which is something no other console can really do, all built into the Wii-U and your Nintendo Network ID (NNID).

I've been doodling on there, hehehe. :)

Some cool posts from fans of the game.  It's quite popular! So I'm happy CVIII gets brand-new love from Wii-U fans:

The Miiverse community is available on the 3DS version as well. I saw some of your drawings on there Jorge, they are very good.

Awesome art, Jorge. Also yes, everything about the final stage in CVIII is still beautiful to this day. Those graphics still hold up well, but that's true of most Castlevania games.

My eyes could just be making this up, but I swear the Wii U VC games look better than in WiiMode due to being 1080p and not upscaled to such. I notice sharper and more defined edges, whereas in WiiMode the games are still slightly blurred.

The options for a save state and custom button mapping also make the Wii U VC really great. I hope Rondo gets brought over, and that we see SNES Dracula X soon and an announcement for Bloodlines.

I see someone in the MiiVerse community has Trevor on the pendulum with "I came in like a wrecking ball" written underneath. Surprised I hadn't heard that joke before XD.
Also still have my cart and NES so I'm good.

The VC games look better on the Gamepad than on the TV in Wii-U mode, FYI.
It seems they're not being scaled completely.  If I'm playing and using the TV, I enjoy playing 'em on vWii mode.
However, if I'm on the gamepad, the screen is awesome.

Also, it seems CVIII looks pretty amazing on the 3DS, based on the screenshots people have put up.

Damn that's some cool stuff.  Well CvIII is the just the third CV game I've bought twice.  I still have my NES cart.  Unfortunately my original good NES is 20 miles away at my mom's.  I have a second crappy more recent used one at home that rarely works and a Super 8 adapter for SNES that first the colors went bad and now have gone B&W.  So I bought the Wii VC version.  Both NES's have a replacement 72 pin connector but the one has something other problem where I just get a white screen most of the time.

Even if I can't be a part of the MiiVerse for the game at least we can see the awesome stuff on it still.  We'll just make this thread our MiiVerse for outsiders.

Too bad Miiverse won't let one embed the posts in URL or IMG mode, just in HTML embed, which only Admins can use (sorry!).
Otherwise, yeah, a Miiverse thread would be so awesome.

Don't know why, but this posts makes me laugh even harder the more I look at it:

I know exactly how that person feels... >.<  For a long time I hated CV III's Death fight for the life of me. I'd get soooo pissed off I would cuss out loud at the screen.
