I'm hoping for dlc

Not nearly as many new characters as I'd hoped.

Anyone ever read/heard if there will still be the "hidden" characters you have to unlock as there's always been in the past?

I'm just fine with it.  Maybe I'm not "impressed" like because there's so many new modes, features, or characters (though, I think if there weren't so many of the familiar ones, I'd be upset about that), but I'm certainly okay, and even excited with what we're being given.

im alright with it. It has megaman, sonic, and samus. im more than happy with it.

also, im not sure, but ive heard that gannon is no longer a captain falcon clone, so i guess we'll see

i am still baffled how they could manage to get pacman, sonic, megaman, etc. no problem, but cant seem to negotiate with squeenix to include characters from Super Mario RPG

Maybe they simply dont want to negotiate, also it seems more like another companies ask permission to join Smash Bros than the other way.

Nintendo doesn't go out and negotiate. You have to come to Nintendo and beg for it. Pac-Man was a sure in though, since Namco is basically developing the game for Nintendo.
