I love the first The Mummy with him. So good. The 2nd one is pretty good too. But lets leave it at that and not even mention the one that came after that...

Wait, there was a third one? When was this? I have no recollection of a third installment. It was just the first two.

Yeah there was a third. It had Jet Li as the mummy. The less you know of it the better.

Dracula Untold's story makes way more sense then the Lords of Shadows games do.  ;)

That was sarcasm. :P

I've seen the atrocity.

At least its CGI looked better than SK did in the second one.

The best dracula film that I've seen since bran stokers dracula was shadow of the vampire.

They really need to step it up and make a new classic. The source material deserves that.

Yeah. Coppola's still holds the record as far as I'm concerned.

Plus, Gary Oldman.

A significant amount of why I love DU is the campy, cheese factor and how evocative it is in some ways of the old school Universal and Hammer Horror Dracula movies, whilst being something very different and more modern.  It's a feel good, silly romp that has enough little nods to the real history of Vlad Tepes to make me happy, even if they did leave all of the stuff with Radu etc out.  The bits which are very similar to Lords of Shadow, especially the hand of bats, also helps. :)

I think DU satisfied a craving I've had for a while. Anyone who is a vampire/CV fan should check it out and see. It was quite a surprisingly good movie to me.

I've seen around 6 or 7 films based directly on the original book (which I've also read several times) and  the one I've seen most recently really stands out for me. "Nosferatu the Vampyre" from 1979. Some neat twists on the familiar story, haunting score and visuals. Great performance from Klaus Kinski who is in some ways pitiful but never sympathetic as Dracula. If you're looking for a great Dracula movie this is highly recommended.

Nosferatu the vampyre is my favorite dracula film of all time!

A large poster of the film cover hangs in a frame on my bedroom wall.

Kinski and herzog were one of the greatest duos. And Isabelle Adjani... Schwing! Best Lucy/Mina of any dracula film! Her voice is haunting alone.

You can find a lot of cool behind the scenes footage from the making of Nosferatu on YouTube.

Nosferatu specifically needs a new film. I find that to be the most terrifying twist on dracula. Here's for hoping we get another dracula film as great as the two nosferatus and stokers.

I will say that I thought Willem dafoe was great as Nosferatu. I would have loved to see him as Nosferatu in a serious remake of the film.
