Re-skinning

I was watching Metal Jesus Rocks on YouTube talking about the future of gaming. He showed a clip about the evolution of polygon technology and a short article about resolution of the eye. After watching it I wonder will the gaming industry rely more heavily on re-skinning older titles ala. Capcom's Bionic Commando Rearmed, Duck Tales, Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD? How much of a market is there for people who just want to play an asthetically updated version of their favorite games or for that matter gearing this to market towards much younger gamers who would not have known of these games in their now defunct console iterations.

Probably this. There's many kids out there that have not yet, or briefly, played the games we once played when we were their age. But most would find it difficult to get into them because they grew up in a world with more modern graphics, sounds, etc. Updating these gems like they did with ducktales would give them a chance to experience it on a comfort level more akin to their current tastes.

PS2 was all the hot shit when I was a wee little toddler, but my parents made sure I started out with NES and worked my way up. Therefore, as I kid, I still have fond memories of the NES growing up. TBH alot of modern games aren't to my tastes.

I like HD remasters just fine, but I feel there's too much of an emphasis on them. It became the true reason why the PS4 doesn't have backwards compatibility with prior systems: why let people play all their old games for free when we can nickle and dime them for each game they're nostalgic for with HD Remasters and with PS Now subscriptions and rentals?

This isn't saying I hate the Remasters, or that they aren't impressive and fun. This is just me saying there's too many of them, full stop.
How not to be a dark lord: the answer to that is a terribly interesting answer that involves an almost Jedi-like adherence to keeping oneself under control and finding ways to be true to yourself in a way that doesn't encourage the worst parts of you to become dangerously exaggerated and instead feeds your better nature. Also, protip: don't fuck with Alchemy or strike up any deals with ancient Japanese Shinigami gods no matter how tempting the deal or how suavely dressed the Shinigami is.

I just want to say this. Some games deserve a nip tuck. Let's go back in time. Super Mario All Stars and Ninja Gaiden Trilogy for the SNES. Both games were ported over to sixteen bit. SMAS was a welcome work but Ninja Gaiden did not keep any of the special effects for the second or third title in the three pack. Showing that some games ought to be left alone much like the dinosaurs at the end Jurrasic Park III.
Still there are so many good retro titles out there that were compelling that if given a woman's touch would make nice remakes.

Super Street Figher 2 HD was pretty sick, surprised that didn't get UDON to do more art for any further titles..
