And I'd really like if Konami didn't even THINK about issuing a cease and desist to any of the fans creating fangames. They should be happy people are still giving damn about Castlevania at all, because if it depended on them, it'd be deader than Dracula after 1999.

Konami wouldn't care about fan games, hell, they don't care about people selling CV1 hacks on NES carts. The only idiots who would do something that shitty is Nintendo, who has done that. They don't even care about Bloodstained, which is Iga's next CV in all but name.

And it's so shitty that corporations operate on a level the way they do. Morally they should love their IPs getting attention, but they're so focused on money because it's a business, hence, Erotic Violence and dropping the AAA game plan to move to mobile. They just don't understand that the mobile business model will bite them in the ass because casual consumers who download and buy DLC for these f2p shit piles only buy the ones that you see commercials for or the lucky successes like Flappy Bird and Angry Birds. They don't give a shit about CV, Contra, Bomberman, Sunset Riders, MGS, Gradius, or ANY franchise Konami owns (except for PES lol).

I think the gaming devision of Konami will close down soon, selling it's IPs, while the gambling scene of the company continues strong. It's sad but thats the problem with Japanese game devs like Sega and Nintendo: They're behind, still think it's the 90s, and do things involving modern day that they don't understand (Nintendo's YouTube bullshit, Sega's milking of Sonic (like other games like CoD and AC), and Konami moving to mobile). Japanese gaming companies just don't move with the times or do move with the times incorrectly. Rant done.

These reports are not true, see the link below. Be sure to check the screencap of the Konami support email confirming this is all untrue.

I was thinking about posting this. But I figured what's the point? It's not that I don't believe what they say but some reassuring news would be nice. Though I suppose we have to wait until E3 for that?

What I find funny is that Castlevania Crypt seems to be one of the few sites saying that these rumors about Konami quitting console games are not true, and they also provided links to prove that. But then 99% of the other sites say that Konami is quitting console games, but provide no links to verify this story.

That is probably why Konami is not responding. They already did in May, there is no reason to respond again when these stupid news sites make up rumors and then everyone copies and pastes the story on their site.

Did you look at the screen of the email Konami sent that person who asked in the support ticket? It says right there that they already acknowledged this rumor back in May, why would they need to reply to it again? They cant let the "media" control them by forcing them to reply every time someone starts a rumor.

So they should just sit by while all of these sites post the same story? Doesn't seem like it would help their reputation in the least.

I want to see the actual email of the support ticket. Not just a copy paste of what was allegedly said.

I posted the link already that was on Castlevania Crypt. Here it is, the support ticket image is at the bottom of the page, it says

"You can view a screenshot of the entire Support Ticket right here."

They already responded to these same rumors in May, why should they respond again? Then when someone else starts the same rumors all over again in 2 months do they need to reply again in 2 months as well?

They don't need to respond to the same exact story every 3 months. These news sites just copy and paste each other and change the posting date to make you think it is a current story. There are news sites posting about this for the 1st time today acting like it is a breaking story when it has been around for days, and already confirmed to be false for days.

Sorry, viewing on a mobile device is a pain in the ass and for some reason I didn't see the link.

Even if the rumor isn't true, it doesn't change that Konami is dead.

If not dead financially, they're dead to me.

All I'm saying is that (assuming they're not full of it) I think it would do Konami better to reassure people that they haven't dropped console gaming. I know they've already talked about it a while back, (and the support ticket for that guy or whatever) but the explosion of this new rumor is convincing people otherwise. Everyone's just assuming it's true, just like you said.

Their reputation has taken an absolute beating. Honestly, I don't know if I even believe them when they say they're still in the console games market. I really don't put anything past them at this point.

Well, if they were truly out of it you'd think they would have no reason to care what the fans think about it.

Something doesn't add up.

Yeah, that's exactly what I said.

I don't give two shits about their money, I'm not really their shareholder.

All we can hope for is that Iga buys out the series, but then again I can see them treating it like a cash cow how the LoS series was. I mean, I loved the first one, liked mirror of fate, LoS2...meh, but the first was the best selling CV game to date, so rest assured we'll be ready to be disappointed when the next "CV" title gets flushed down the drain too....sigh...we miss you Castlevania!!!
But enough talk, HAVE AT YOU!!!!!!!!
