Hi all,

I'm actually not a newbie here. I used to be "amgeoffrey12," but I have long since been inactive and thus, have been deleted. So, I made a new account.

I'm back here to share with you my concert arrangement of "A Toccata Into Blood Soaked Darkness" from Curse of Darkness. This was meant to be part of the soundtrack to a fan game being made a while ago, but I lost touch with the creator. I now have a whole soundtrack that will probably never be heard by anyone. If you're interested, I could post it here.

Anyway, back to my concert arrangement!

My version is near-exact as the original. I felt that the original was fine as is, but could have been a bit more crisp in a few areas. I tried to include more dynamics, so the first half with the organ, choir, and strings is a bit softer and more...how do I say...flow-y? Other than that, I added an actual ending to the song, instead of looping it and fading out like the video game version.

So yeah, listen and let me know what you think!

-Geoff.

Whoa, it's Geoffrey Gunn. :D

I definitely like how this one builds up. It's as powerful and sweeping as the original, but keeps its own flavor. The ending is suitably epic as well.

You mean bloodstained symphony? Of course people would be interested. What little was posted of it (like, 4 tracks or so) was awesome. I wanted to hear the rest, but the temp links on the game's forum died long before i found them, along with the forum.

On topic, the first few seconds (around 0:05 to 0:08) sounded kinda weird. Original was faster and more intense in that part.
Edit: Wait nevermind, didn't notice it was supposed to be a remix of the orchestral version of the track, which kinda failed at that moment.

The overall feel of the intro reminds me a lot of sotn's final toccata. Awesome.

So yeah, I definitely like it.

Pardon my ignorance, Mr. Gunn, but you wouldn't happen to have a personal site of your own or anything, would ya? :D

Wow. Are you sure you're not a brother of Michiru Yamane? Your music sounds exactly like hers! (Of course, I do hear Festival of Condemned Souls is inspired by Followers of the Dark, but nonetheless it's really awesome!)

Your orchestrated Tocatta is astonishing, too! May I ask how did you get the instruments so realistic? Is it a real orchestra?

Hi Geoff!  I've missed your stuff (have a few on mp3 player even that I use at work).  Was worried you dropped off the planet or something.  Good seeing you back!

If you wanted to hear the rest of the songs from that project. All you had to do was ask if anyone had them. I would have uploaded them all to rapidshare or something but since I lost contact with Geoff for a long time. I wasnt exactlly sure if he wanted the songs public.

To bad Bloodstained Symphony didnt get to far into development. With how the story was being developed it was going to be quite a good game in my opinion. I do miss being on the development team...

Keep up the good work with the music Geoff. This new song is amazing.
