Cool Plot Ideas...

While Fan-fiction/game making goes through a process, first thing comes to mind is "It'll be cool if..." I have a few unused ideas but usually think of them for possibilities.

What if Walter's clan went seeking Dracula for vengeance, as the Successor, you venture to fight against the Lord of Darkness as well as being intercepted by the Belmont clan.

Something Something Making a Dracula the closely resemble's his real-life equal, WWE's Undertaker.

a Film Noir style Belmont solving Mysteries leading up to a showdown with the Lord of Darkness.

A member of the Belmont Clan has committed treason and is working for Dracula, you must succeed both the clan and Dracula. in the end, the Belmont wants to reunite the lost love of his ancestry and sacrifices himself to the Whip's power thus unlocking the full potential of the whip and Freeing the Belmont Clan to live normal lives, As One's gift to help the world is usually the bearer's curse. It's directly inspired by the Current events of Iga's departure and the future of Castlevania.

Did I mention I really want the Undertaker to be Dracula, this can work especially in LoS verse.

Sorrow 3, Soma vs. Galamoth - a Battle trencending time! Team up with Belmont and Death to once and for all destory the final threat to humanity.

No, Undertaker's CV equal is the Gravedigger in OoE which totally isn't an obvious 'Taker reference.  :P

First of all, I was brainstorming a new plot, I would make it a gaiden because I wouldn't want to interfer with the main timeline and a lot of ideas simply aren't possible if you use that as a framework.

My first idea is more of a setting than an actual story idea, but I would basically try to rip-off Vampire Hunter D and see if I could get away with it. What I mean is the post-apocalypse medieval looking Transylvanian Überwald setting with some sci-fi flavoring. 14576 A.D or something. The gothic and supernatural elements would still taking precedence, of course. I didn't really came up with anything beyond that, but I guess it might be fun to play around with the idea if whether or not the story is connected to the IGA timeline, and leave it ambiguous on purpose.

The second idea is based on the scenario of the Super Famicom RPG Dark Half. At least, my impressions of the basic idea behind the game since I didn't actually play the game yet. The premise would be that you alternatively play with two characters: a vampire hunter character and a vampire dark lord character. The vampire hunter is the good guy and the dark lord is the villian but you still see both sides of the story. I would probably gave the two a shared past to give the story some conflict. The dark lord is actually more up-and-coming in the demonic hierarchy, but already shares a rivalry with the vampire hunter. Because of that, I thought perhaps this character's scenario focuses on monster recruitment/summoning as a gameplay component, which would be the classic CV monsters. The monsters would play a key role in the combat and basically be bodyguards/goons. Eventually this character would be able to summon more and more powerful monsters and in the end could summon one of the more bigger boss characters from past games. Take your pick. No idea how the story would further develop, though.

One of my ideas for a Castlevania-thing is this:

A tactics game where you control Mathias during his ascension to the position of lord of Wallachia between LoI and CVIII.

As Mathias, your job is to place troops in the field to battle against soldiers, mercenaries, thieves, vampire hunters, and even other vampires with their own troops fighting for territory. The battle happens in tactical style a la Final Fantasy Tactics.

The plot is about Mathias escaping through Romania and building a name for himself, while he learns all sorts of dark secrets to augment his power and acquires wealth and allies. Anyone who stands on his path is crushed mercilessly - either it's his way, or you're dead. In doing so, Mathias actually starts to rid the land from monsters, thieves and other evil parties, as he asserts control over their territories by destroying the opposition, or having they pay allegiance to him.

The final battle would be against the Belmonts, who after centuries have amassed their own party of vampire hunters and are well-known to the people. Now they are hunting down Mathias to fulfill their ancestor's vow as they're the only ones who know who Mathias truly is and what he has done. After following the trail Mathias left behind, they finally trap him and his troops at Wallachia, ensuing in a devastating battle where Wallachia itself is heavily damaged.

Mathias' victory causes the Belmonts to be exposed as "superhuman monsters" in a grand scheme by him, who is believed to be innocent due to having ridden the land from vampires (which he did, but not exactly for good intentions, but for territory), leading the people to think that the major destruction and death brought to the area was caused exclusivelly by the Belmonts. They then kick the Belmonts out of Wallachia for fear of their powers, but are left with a destroyed Wallachia in their hands.

Mathias, then, poses as the good guy once more. A count, who uses his vast resources to rebuild the destroyed towns. The people are satisfied with his presence, since attacks by monsters have ceased with his arrival and everything is good again. He is able to quietly settle down on an ominous castle overseeing Wallachia, becoming known as their lord, and changing his name to Dracula.

So yeah, a story where Dracula wins, for a change.

I always thought that a Metal Gear Solid crossover was the most obvious choice! ;D

A Wayforward Classicvania based on the premise of http://castlevania.wikia.com/wiki/The_Devil_Castle_Dracula:_The_Battle_of_Old_Castle. Since it's set in the 1950s, they could use the era's aesthetics and revisit CV's Hammer-ish roots that way. Not to mention liven it up with Double Dragon Neon-style humor.

A coming of age story covering the transition from Juste to Richter (I know they're not father and son but I like to think they are), probably a comic or novella. Richter is a talented but brash and irresponsible hunter with daddy issues. He mans up after Dracula worshippers kill Juste and Maxim returns from abroad to whip him into shape.

- I like the "What if" Marvel take on things, like what if Julius lost the battle of 1999 to Dracula?

- What happened after Leon defeated Death? Did he bare children (at least 1 son) and set up shop as a bounty hunter? Perhaps he partnered with Rinaldo as a businessman and together they exterminated monsters to try and keep the land free of evil. I say this because Rinaldo had sound knowledge of Alchemy, and the Crimson Stone and potentially better known methods of tracking either users of Alchemy or creatures of the night. At the same time Leon and Rinaldo are killing Vampires so that Mathias can't absorb their souls and hence their power for his own. While they had no way to track Mathias, he was targeting specific people to turn into vampires so that he could absorb their souls and serve his final purpose. This was one of the reasons why he took the name Dracula and founded a kingdom, built an army etc. In the end when he became "King" he convinced the people that Rinaldo and Leon were two creatures with Supernatural powers that were turning and slaughtering innocents with his Griffith-like (Berserk reference) charisma. This caused the Belmont clan and all their associates to become feared and hated by the people of Wallachia.
The saga could end around the year 1220 where Leon's son eventually takes up the whip as his disciple and begins training the younger disciples to one day track down Dracula.*

-*Another subplot: Maybe there was a Belmont in between 1220 - 1400(ish) who challenged Mathias and lost? Perhaps both were gravely injured in the battle, but the Belmont died after walking away from the battle thinking Dracula had perished when he hadn't. The Vampire Killer is then passed to his successor, a younger sibling of direct Belmont blood lineage. This man has a vision of Dracula being defeated, and believes himself to be the savior, yet as he passes his whip onto his son (successor) he realises the vision was a prophecy, seeing Trevor Belmont.

- Castlevania Prophecy of Sorrow: The final in the series of 3 where Dracula's soul reawakens within Soma (insert methodology) and there is one final showdown between Soma and Julius
(click to show/hide)
. Nostradamus prophecy states than in 2050 the world would be "plunged into Chaos" and engulfed darkness for 1000 years. What the outcome be? (*P4A narrator's voice?*)

Mathias' victory causes the Belmonts to be exposed as "superhuman monsters" in a grand scheme by him, who is believed to be innocent due to having ridden the land from vampires (which he did, but not exactly for good intentions, but for territory)

Assuming he also absorbs their souls with the Crimson Stone?

My first idea is more of a setting than an actual story idea, but I would basically try to rip-off Vampire Hunter D and see if I could get away with it.

I love decent VHD/Castlevania cross overs, as teh two work very well together.  I could easly see Alucard falling into the D role.  Heck, even some of Amano's artwork makes D look blond, so rather like Al anyway.  I love the ideas you have already. :)

The Sorrow games never felt complete after DoS to me.  Soma potentially reclaiming his mantle as the dark lord in some way always felt like the end point, but reeeming himself along the way.

I've been playing with ideas for a fic in my head where Soma and co come up against a new foe, a new cult leader who's more dangerous than Graham and Celia ever were.  He knows who Soma is, and has a huge hatred for him and for Julius.  This new enemy, William, kidnaps a young agent working under Arikado called 'Joe', and goes off to his castle.  When the gang gets there, Soma finds himself either separated from the others or realises somehow that he needs to do this on his own, probablu after being calleout by Wlliam.  Something feels off about the castle....  Along the way, Soma finds that this castle isn't just based on Castlevania, it IS Castlevania - William's somehow pulled it from the eclipse, and is proclaiming himself as the lord of it.  But there's a probem for Soma.  As he's traversing the corridors, no matter how few hits he takes, etc, the trip through the castle is killing him, and his memories of being Dracula are surfacing.  He's particularly remembering his old life as Mathias, and how he became a vampire...   After facing an out of his mind and vampirised Joe, now calling himself Joachim, Soma comes face to face with William, actually the reborn Walter Bernhard (whose soul escaped from the Crimson Stone), who wants vengeance on Soma and Julius for what happened a thousand years before.  During the fight, Soma realises there's only one option.  He's dying, and he can't let Walter win and become the true 'new' dark lord again.  Soma has to let himself become a vampire again.  That's what the castle's been trying to do, turn Soma into Dracula once more, recognising him as its master returned.  Soma, now with his full powers at hand, defeats Walter well and truly, ensuring he can't be reborn again, and reclaims his throne.  But it's a throne and mantle he's weary of, and still has no desire to be lord of.  He took it up once more as a means to stop anyone else from trying to claim the vacant seat.  He goes back down to the underground waterway area where Walter had locked Joe/Joachim up in, and retrieves the unconcious young and reborn vampire, exiting the castle, disguised as his human self.  But Julius, thanks to the Vampire Killer, senses not is as it seems, and confronts Soma, who does not want to fight Julius, and banishes Castlevania into the eclipse once more.  Either there, or at Arikado's hidden residence, Soma explains everything, and apologises to Julius and to Sara, a shade of whom appears for a moment together with Leon, accepting Soma's apology.  Arikado, no longer seeing a need to hide his identity to the gang, reveals himself to be in fact Alucard, the son of Dracula.   Soma also realises that Mina is in fact his past wives reborn once more.  Soma agrees to seal most of his powers away, under a seal such as what Alucard does in his guise as Arikado.  They help Joe recover, and get used to his new state of being.  He joins the inner circle of Alucard's group in the Agency, but says that Joe is dead, so will be going by the name of Joachim from now on properly.  Things are then quiet.... for now....

EDIT: I apologise for the terrible grammatical errors in this post below. I realise it's CVD Blaspheme, however I'm on a mobile phone and autocorrect is effing-sheet-up!!

***WARNING, SPOILERS AHEAD***

See now I like this idea, but I think a couple of parts including the very end could use tweaking. Let me explain.

Walter's soul escaping from the Crimson Stone is an interesting idea, but why was he able to?
This would mean he was able to escape Dracula's dominion, which in itself is problematic because Mathias used the Crimson Stone to become Lord of the Vampires - meaning Walter's soul is his property. Therefore "why" should become "when/ how"? Maybe when Julius permanently destroyed Dracula - part of which was Castlevania being sealed into the eclipse - Walter's soul was strong enough to pry itself away from the Crimson Stone. (Perhaps a rare few tainted souls that were previously trapped in the Crimson Stone were able to also escape due to the force/ power of Walter's soul/ "will" [the reason for assuming the name "WILLiam"] creating a small window of opportunity for them, eg Graham who was born in 1999 the very same day Dracula was destroyed; the same could be applied to William in terms of DOB and even others such as Dmitri/ Celia from DoS.)

As for the ending, it would be all the more tragic if Soma has no choice but to assume his throne. I say this for a number of plausible reasons:
- The Crimson Stone now gone, Somacula does possess the dominion (and can absorb the souls) of the creatures of Castlevania. However, Walter was never originally a creature of Castlevania, Mathias had absorbed his soul due to the Crimson Stone's Lordship, yet for over 1000 years Walter's soul & consciousness has lamented (yes..) in limbo and continued to retain his own ego due to resisting being completely consumed by the Crimson Stone. What he could not resist was his power as a Vampire becoming Dracula's.
- Somacula can absorb the soul of Walter (William) but Walter being by far the most powerful Vampire Mathias ever absorbed (even adopting some of his fighting/ magical/ alchemical techniques) is strong enough to challenge Somacula in his current state, who hadn't fully let himself be re-appointed as Lord of Castlevania. With no more Crimson Stone (destroyed by Julius along with Mathias/ Dracula prior to the eclipse ritual) there's only one way Soma can defeat William/ Walter and subdue and/or absorb (or destroy should he choose to) his soul once more: allow himself to embrace Lordship of Castlevania.
-Somacula resists for a whole fighting Walter off, the match is even until Walter uses a previously unseen technique to boost his power dramatically. It seems as Walter's soul lamented and resisted eternal damnation and darkness being absorbed into the Crimson Stone, lesser vampire's souls tried to retain their egos by latching onto Walter's. None succeeded, however, within the Crimson Stone, Walter had without realising been absorbing those souls all along into his own (after Mathias had absorbed them into the Crimson Stone) while Mathias continued his reign under the name "Dracula" being none the wiser.
- Due to this situation, Somacula is fading fast while his allies watch on. The others rush to Somacula's aide but their efforts only hinder the battle. Finally Julius' collected persona flares, mirroring the Vampire Killer's rage at William (Walter) for being the original Vampire to turn Sara's soul to a tainted one.
- Somacula defiantly protests on Julius' involvement. Julius, shocked, doesn't understand when Somacula states "This is MY FIGHT! Plus.. If I lose, I need you to kill me.. Remember you gave me your word all of those years ago."
- Somacula orders Arikado to gather the party and escape while Julius watches on but maintains his distance. While this is happening, William/ Walter states that due to the events that took place while inside the crimson stone, his soul now possesses the ability to absorb the souls of other Vampires. Somacula is not a vampire, but because his soul was born from a tainted one and he is heir to Castlevania's throne, Walter can absorb him. A short battle ensues to no avail for Somacula, looking decrepit and worn. Walter begins to absorb his soul but something happens.... Time stops as if it seems for an instant and an eternity all at once.
- Soma hears the Castle beckoning him, from the source if its power which is also the source of his (Dracula's own) , Chaos. Somacula allows himself to be completely absorbed becoming Dracula (two-point-oh). Walter's absorption of his soul is interrupted...
- A battle ensues where Walter's efforts are all thwarted at every opportunity. Dracula states "Petty fool... All these years your soul has survived thirsting off of your lust for revenge. Only to be thwarted with such haste... Pathetic ...". Knowing Dracula will exterminate him, he feels death is at hand..
- "I will not spare your miserable little life, but you shall rest for an eternity." Walter works out that Dracula is not planning to absorb his soul, but plans to kill him. Looking up he sees Death hovering above Dracula's now commanding presence and stature. Walter raises his right hand as if in a plea for mercy from Dracula "I... I... Will..." Walter pauses for a moment, muttering under his breath he finishes "... Not take what is mine, again."...
Walter's right hand forces a loose fight and in that instant, he absorbs Death's soul into himself. He stole Death's soul  literally from underneath him, and from Dracula .
- A battle ensues but Dracula sustains some injury. Julius assists with this battle (after Dracula has a close call) and for the first time they temporarily join forces to defeat a common adversary. The battle is long and drawn out, ending with Dracula using his Demon form to subdue/ contain WalterWillDeath (aka 'Die as thou Wilt') with Julius  striking the final blow cleaving the beast down the middle in 2. The strength of Walter is go great that the corpse (half ethereal) begins repairing itself and re absorbing itself (as Dracula's does) which is a byproduct residual effect of being trapped inside the Crimson Stone with ego retained. However, just as the beasts is rekindling its body, Julius and Dracula both use magic to incinerate the creature. (Julius' cruciform pillar of light) Walter's soul flees into the astral realm of the night, never to be seen again.
They win, the castle doesn't crumble, but dematerialises around them, Dracula appears back to normal as "Soma Cruz", everything is fine.
- (*Insert your ending/ explanation sequence(s) here*)
- Everyone is sleeping, Soma gets up to leave, feeling drawn back to the night  . On his way out, Julius is waiting for him in the shadows, cloaked in darkness (in a dark hood like Trevor Belmont).
Julius: ... Where are you going?
Soma: ..... Why are you here??...
Julius: ... To keep my word to you.
Soma: ... Hmph. (Smirks)
Julius: .... (clutches VK, while his fist tightens and the whip's rage pulses through his veins)
*Castlevania's throne room materialises around the 2 of them*
Julius: .. Soma, you realise you WILL die...
*Soma's facial features change completely*
Dracula:.. ENOUGH Talk! Have AT you!!!!!

Ends like the Ryu vs Akuma fight of SF Alpha Anime (movie)

Fin.

Personally I have imagined Soma (with his last bit of compassion left in him) wish his friends and beloved Mina farewell, then he seals himself and Castlevania back into the eclipse before he loses his humanity entirely. This would be classified as a sad ending obviously.

Can we make this the ending if you don't wear the talisman Mina gives you?

Yes!  :D. Likewise a bad ending would Soma giving in to his hatred in full, with Walter having killed Soma's friends and family.

Regarding Walter's soul having had the strength to survive in a sort inside the Crimson stone is exactly what I had in mind.  The same goes for Joachim's soul, which is why upon the destruction of the Crimson stone their souls were released by it.  Joachim's soul survived because his was bound to Walter.  But like with Soma, they weren't born in 1999 after the battle.  My idea was for Joe/Joachim to be of a similar age to Soma, a junior member of Arikado's agency, knowing about Dracula and the existence of monsters, but not being privy to knowing who Soma and Arikado really are, etc.

My idea as well is that Soma does take up the throne in the end, knowing he has no choice.  He sacrifices his humanity, and while not full of wrath at present, there's an almost inevitability to it.  In a sense, him assuming the role of Lord of Darkness once again while not consumed by his rage makes it all the more tragic.  But even without that rage, the cruelty that was from his time as Dracula previously is there again, under his skin.

He's a vampire now, in full possession of his memories, once he's defeated Walter.  He knew that Walter was simply too powerful to defeat as a human, let alone the fact that he was dying.  The Castle was demanding a new master upon its throne.  It was forcing him into it, because as he was dying, he came closer and closer to fully Turning.  Destroying Walter would be the final sealing of this.  Throughout his run of the castle, Soma had episodes of losing himself temporarily, after regaining a memory, etc, before suppressing it again.  Right now, it is as though this is the lull, like how he was when Lisa was alive, and Alucard was a boy.  He knows that she's returned to him again as Mina Hakuba.... But one day she will die.

I do like some of your suggestions.  Could definitely make this interesting to instead have the others see Soma become a vampire again.  During the battle with Walter, I had envisioned Soma going full on Dracula mode, but by the time he speaks to the others post battle, he's calmer, and more in control.

I'd actually pictured Walter stealing Death's soul before the start of the story, as Soma had released his souls initially, and gets him to fight Death as always.  Death possibly betrayed Soma seeing his refusal to reclaim him throne, so sides with Walter.  However, he becomes aware that Soma's being in the castle alone is killing him, as part of his nature deep down is fighting to assume itself.  Or, it could be thatDeath, displeased with Soma for resisting becoming Dracula, was both siding with Walter and involved in the killing Soma slowly, wanting to see Dracula return, and for a showdown between two powerful vampires.   He knows that Soma would know that he'd have to utterly destroy Walter's soul.

The game starts out with a slightly older Belmont who's past his prime and showing the wear of battle after years.  He's got a wife and two children and lives on a farm outside of town.  The game starts with him showing lessons to his kids (giving an actual reason to have a tutorial at the beginning.)

At the moment, Dracula isn't a problem and isn't expected to be.  The Belmonts at this time mostly serve to hunt down whatever little amounts of supernatural threats arise.  They live outside the nearest town for peace and so the town doesn't serve as a target.

The game itself starts up as a panic messenger arrives from the town telling you it's under attack by some minor (but still formidable) monsters, maybe a wave of skeletons and werewolf or two.  Nothing huge, but more than the average citizen can handle.

So you rush out riding to town, beat the bad guys and learn that it was all distraction so Dracula's real forces could lure you away from your family.  When you arrive, your farm and house are burning to the ground, your family is missing, and Dracula himself is just sitting there at a table relaxed and drinking an unidentified red fluid from a goblet.

If you attack him, he kicks your butt all over the place.  You're past your prime and no match for the Lord of Darkness anymore.  Dracula tells you he has your family, and invites you to his castle to save them.

So there's a quest, you go out and find more artifacts to make yourself more powerful, etc etc, storm Dracula's castle and as you reach the end you discover something.

Saving your family was never an option.  Dracula had them taken care of right after he captured them.  Your wife is a vampire slave and your kids were chopped up to use as Frankenstein parts.  Dracula just needed some way to trick you into unlocking those ancient artifacts you've empowered yourself with and to bring them to him.

Karl Belmont was a high school boy and the successor of Belmont's destiny, born in around 1970-1980. He had a hard student life because his classmates often fear about Belmont clan's power (They don't want to be sucked in the troubles of clashes of extremely good and evil like their parents/relatives in past). But Karl Belmont saw his best friend Kischine since child fell into evil paths and harmed classmates; he kidnapped Karl's girlfriend and brought her to street gangs because Kischine's selfish and wants to get her but can't, then Dracula's evil force corrupted Kischine's body and mind, inch by inch. Then Karl Belmont heard that his girlfriend was raped and killed by some street gang members, he fell into desperation, escaped from school, stole the Vampire Killer whip(Not awakened) from Belmont family hall, hid into scrapyards, rental computer rooms, underground railways, city central park and jungles for a month with the hate and distrust of relationships between humans. He was caught and blamed by his parents and Belmont relatives at last, then they trained Karl to become a real man. He returned to old classrooms and lessons, graduated from high school, find a legit job as news editor, and all seems natural like ordinary life until...
The nightmare returns. the street gang wasn't dead, but became a much greater dark society instead. Mr.Kicshine was the current leader and hired old kingdom relative Count Michael Sepperin as sponcer of the company. it's named "Black Wings" and the members made countless haunted events that often lead to thousands of citizens' perish. Karl Belmont finally decided to investigate the source of the haunted events by himself, brought the whip out of Belmont family hall again but his parents and relatives allowed him to go and considered that he is strong enough and being able to handle dangerous situations.
Karl found that the Black Wings heardquarter was everything like a building called "Castlevania" in lots of history books, but with a modern skin. He braved his way through old street gang members and murderers but with tough and painful struggles: Actually the street gang members and murderers are not actually human. It's some evil force which strengthen them and act as their power supply. He met his girlfriend in the underground room of the headquarter but she was heavily corrupted by the evil force. A horrible transformation happened in her body: Her nails became sharp claws and thick hair covered her body. She became berserk, with dangerous destruction power But Karl snapped the evil force out of her body after a battle. The evil force reveal itself as "Dracula", brought her last few life energy and left the underground room.  Arrived at Count Michael Sepperin's meeting room, Karl quarreled with Count Sepperin about the haunted events burn out in the world recently, Count Sepperin enraged, leave his golden chair, shattered the wine glass in his hand and challenge Karl. Beaten, Count Sepperin announced that his mission to revive Dracula had been finished, a cold laugh hang on his mouth, then he taunts Karl with his deceased girlfriend and died. Karl swings his whip to the floor with his full power and rage, then he shouts out. It's the loudest shout he can do in his life and he almost cries. Suddenly an earthquake happened, a castle, with heavy and dark atmosphere, appeared at Karl's sight. He somewhat knows what happened, or perhaps not. Karl closed his hand as fist, shouted "Mr.Kischine...", walked out of the Black Wings headquarter, walked into the south forest. An epic battle between good and evil, cool and rage is waiting for Karl Belmont

No, Undertaker's CV equal is the Gravedigger in OoE which totally isn't an obvious 'Taker reference.  :P

This is true. Undertaker x Q from 3rd Strike. One of the cooler and more intelligent enemies. :)
